I've imagined it. I've also imagined worse, and I'm fairly certain I'll see it in the not to distant future. Trump is almost at the 'kill legislators and judges' stage of his fascist takeover.
I wonder if Democrats will learn something from this, or if Schumer will demand Padilla apologize before next week.
Attempting to ask questions, they steamrolled him before he had the chance to ask.
They claim he didn't identify himself, but the video shows he clearly states "I am Senator Alex Padilla and I have questions for Ms. Noem"

That title implies something far less violent than what happened to him. You can detain people without tackling them to the ground.
It's Politico. I'm surprised they didn't go full passive voice and write the headline from the point of view of the handcuffs.

Aren't all members of congress exempt from arrest while performing their duties?

I think it is defined as they are protected in travel to, from, and while sitting in formal sessions, not official duties.

They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.
I wish nothing but the worst possible outcomes for every single person within the trump regime.
I hope that their loved ones turn their backs. I hope that the rest of their lives, and the end of their lives, are filled with fear, regret, pain, and crushing loneliness.
And honestly, that is only the things that can be said. I wish far worse in these terrorists.
