“Bitch I’m a Train”
They will want bigger cars, soon enough we will have locomotives on our streets
it begins
There are so many American flags in this picture, what the hell 😂
Probably close to a holiday.
This is beautiful.
Except for the flags, yeah. Kind of highlights the fantasy element, the 'you don't get to have this ever'.
This is real. It's La Grange KY and the CSX LCL subdivision from Louisville to Cincinnati runs directly through the city. There is a highway built along the same corridor paralleling the track, and for only 3 blocks in downtown La Grange, it runs directly down the middle of main street.
Street running is a thing in some places. It's mainly historical. It's much less of a thing nowadays because rail is no longer used for local deliveries, and it's generally better to run in separated corridors. The trains can only go through the street run at 10 MPH.
Heavy freight rail infrastructure is neither a good way to have pleasant spaces for people, or efficient rail transport. Trams are good for street running, enormous freight trans, not so much.
can only run at 10 mph
But then how do they clear the streets to make pedestrians safe?
I'm just reporting the track speed through the area. But yeah, that's how they go very slowly.
I can see it now
Rails laid through the street with tiny trains with so much room they can carry all their friends and coworkers places, and electric lines installed to power them just to appease their egos. And since these giant cars are confined to the streets with rails they'll be called streetcars, and they'll be about to start renting out their extra carrying capacity to randos.....wait a minute
That poor little tree 🩼 🌳🩼
POV is a bit optimistic about their positions safety.
Grade level crossings mi amor
Isn't this the future you want? Not a car in sight, just trucks and trains frolicking freely, as nature intended 😉
This was really fun to watch, just sad it ended with tracks closed for so long.
