Hello fellow Calvin and Hobbes fans!

About this community and how I post the comic strip… The comics are posted in chronological order on the day (usually) they were released. Posting them to match the release date adds a bit of fun and nostalgia to match the experience of reading them in the newspaper for first time. Many moons ago, I would ask my Dad to save the newspaper for me everyday so I could read my favorite comic strips. It really sucked when I missed a day. Only years later, when I got the books was I able to catch up on the missed strips.

Calvin and Hobbes is a daily American comic strip created by cartoonist Bill Watterson that was syndicated from November 18, 1985, to December 31, 1995. Commonly cited as "the last great newspaper comic",[2][3][4] Calvin and Hobbes has enjoyed broad and enduring popularity, influence, and academic and philosophical interest… Read more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_and_Hobbes

Makes sense, a bare butt is inherently pornographic.

Remember when John Ashcroft covered up the statue of Lady Justice because she has a boobie out? These puritanical prudes are so fucking weird.

Well, if he didn’t cover up that naked boob he would have to see it and be aroused and then how could he do his job? /s

They're perverts, the lot of them.

Didn't the conservative crowd popularize the Calvin peeing on XYZ car decal? Ah well... I guess the same folks banning books are just jealous they can't read.

they did it against bill's wishes, who hated commercialisation.

Yes, but Bill Waterson was even more reserved than that. I read his biography which was written without his input because he repeatedly refused a request to be interviewed for it.

He never merchandised Calvin & Hobbes and never licensed it to others. Whenever I hear "reclusive genius" I always think of Bill Waterson.

republicans are gonna be real shocked when they find out calvin's stance on deforestation and urban sprawl.

That's great news, these books are going to be read a lot more now! 😀

US missed the Holy Inquisition the first time around, so they're making up for lost time.

I have Stupendous Man on my arm. What I’m trying to say is that I take this personally.
