It's insulting how hard the Democrats are pushing a sex pest who killed people during Covid just because his primary opponent is a dem-soc. How can anyone make progress with 'allies' like these?

Good reason to vote for someone else.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 5 points 6 days ago

The only reason I can think of for Clinton giving Cuomo support is that they must have shared a tween at some point in their past.

It is on brand

Abusers stand together. We need more solidarity to stop them.

Serial sexual harassers stick together

Another example: Bill Clinton officiated Anthony Weiner's wedding

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

What about Carlos Danger’s?

Honestly thought you were talking about Clinton here

[–] ramchak@lemmy.ca 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Could be. I don't know what Bill was up to during covid

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 week ago

Helping Seth Rogan craft a more obnoxious laugh

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 42 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What, they couldn't get Liz Cheney's endorsement? These people are so out of touch...

[–] sfxrlz@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

they’re very much in touch. But only With donors.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

With donors.

Especially AIPAC.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Phew. I read that as with minors, and thought the narrative shifted to the other side.

[–] londos@lemmy.world 39 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I mean, it's an encouraging sign that they think this endorsement is necessary. Zohran must be doing well in internal polling.

[–] chilicheeselies@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago

A ton of their donors probably live in the city and would be directly affected. Even more of a reason to vote for him

[–] ShittyBeatlesFCPres@lemmy.world 36 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Who even wants a Bill Clinton endorsement? I don’t live in NYC so it’s not something I’m going to have to deal with but who is thinking “Oh, the elderly sex pest endorsed him? That’s going to change my decision.”

[–] 3abas@lemm.ee 3 points 6 days ago

All the voting Democrats that still haven't read a history book and still think Clinton was the greatest president of their lifetime, and complete ignorance of how much him and his wife are directly responsible for ALL the deep shit we're in today.

Between this and the times printing 3 anti Zohran articles it seems to me they're trying to blitz low info voters to vote against not only Zohran but all the candidates more progressive then a literal sex pest who caused more senior death during covid than necessary.

[–] Viking_Hippie@lemmy.dbzer0.com 30 points 1 week ago

the Democrats are pushing a sex pest

Which one of them do you mean? Clinton or Cuomo?

who killed people during Covid

Ah ok, must be Cuomo. ALTHOUGH..do we REALLY know what Bill was up to in the forests of upstate New York in 2020? 🤔

[–] delgato@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Dem establishment is so afraid and out of touch they think this will move the needle, maybe it will maybe it won’t, for better or for worse, all I know if further alienates me and probably other newyawkers that want to vote dem but absolutely hate every candidate that is propped up by money.

[–] BoycottPro@lemm.ee 11 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Have you voted yet in the primary (if eligible)?

For anyone reading this who's a registered Democrat and lives in NYC it's super import you vote in the primary by June 24. Urge as many like-minded friends and family to vote and offer them a ride or go on the bus with them if they need help with transportation. Even search things like NYC or New York City on social media and if you think they are like-minded urge them to vote.

Rank these names from #1 (best) to #5 (tolerable): Zohran Mamdani, Brad Lander, Adrienne Adams, Michael Blake, Zellnor Myrie

I'd recommend Zohran #1 and Brad #2. Zohran has a stellar ability to motivate volunteers. You really need those door knockers, they will help tip the scale in the general election. The general election is going to be difficult because Adams is running as an independent. If Cuomo wins, he and Adams will split the vote and hand the election to the Republican Curtis Sliwa. Zohran is fresh and gives voters someone to get excited about. He can crush the spoiler effect.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 1 points 6 days ago

the Republican Curtis Sliwathe Republican Curtis Sliwa

Sliwa? Really? The racist gang leader?

The kakistocracy never ends.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Dem establishment knows exactly what it's doing, because alienating people like you is exactly their goal.

[–] yesman@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Democrats pretend to be progressive the way Republicans pretend to be Christian. Just a virtue signal that can be jettisoned the instant it becomes inconvenient to power.

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

If Dems are trying to act progressive, it's only in relation to Republicans.

I think most Dems try to appeal to actual conservative values. It's non-intrusive, light on protections, nothing that might make the average voter uncomfortable (no reparations, no medicaid for all, no major police reform etc). They're pretty vocal about it. It's just that their opposition is fucking terrorists that hate most of their own country.

[–] SereneSadie@lemmy.myserv.one 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The political compass is wrong.

Democrats are centrist, conservative. Republicans are right wing, regressive.

The two sided layout is just no longer applicable, and labelling all right-wing crap as conservative is incorrect.

There is a blatant attitude of regressive notions, and it's about damn time people call it out for what it is.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 4 points 1 week ago

I mean that's better, but you're still ignoring several other axes

It's never been a single continuum, and it's not a quadrant. Your takeaway isn't wrong, but there's so many more options

[–] grue@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Well, yeah. That's what liberalism is, and always has been.

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 18 points 1 week ago

Shocking. Y'all, Clinton was doing speeches for Kamala's campaign, which let's be fr, couldn't have helped, like at all. The party needs to take him out behind the shed lmao

[–] Wazowski@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago

LOL, fitting.

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 1 week ago

Why would I care that a sex-pest endorsed a fellow sex-pest?

[–] Bonus@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Dawgs Of A Feather

[–] devolution@lemmy.world -2 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Quit the virtue signaling. Your choices are either a “sex pest” or Trump’s pet.

[–] Bakkoda@sh.itjust.works 0 points 6 days ago (1 children)

It's amazing that you can illustrate not only a lack of reading comprehension but also cannot count.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world -2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Can read just fine. The others aren’t worth mentioning because they won’t rank. So once again, sex pest or Trump’s pet? Because if you believe any of the others will make a dent, then you are one of those fucking idiots that cost Harris the election because of your “morals.”

[–] Bakkoda@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

This shit aged so well. It must feel so good to be so wrong.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I’m rather proud to be wrong. There might be hope yet in this fucked up country.

[–] Bakkoda@sh.itjust.works 1 points 4 days ago

That's fair enough.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 4 points 1 week ago

Bullshit. Zohran is right there, as are 3 other lesser (but still good) candidates

And it's ranked choice voting.
