Fuck booking.com . They're the worst. 80% of customers coming to rent our 15% cabin were surprised it didn't have bathroom inside (how???), as you couldn't enter your own descriptions! You fill a form and they generate the description that makes no sense. Those assholes take huge commission and also started charging percentage on payouts (because paying out costs them money... ). I hated them so much! We finally removed all the empty dates and won't reopen. People who come from Airbnb are always nice and happy. Fuck booking.com

So the findings of mentioned in the headline are from a report from consumer action groups, this has already been established by Dutch authorities earlier and they have been fined for this behaviour. But apparently continuing is still more profitable than changing their modus operandi, so now these consumer groups are preparing a massaclaim (class-action lawsuit)

Anyone from the Netherlands who booked a hotel room (also if you havent used booking.com, since their behaviour impacted the whole market) can sign-up to take part: https://www.consumentenbond.nl/acties-claims/claims/booking?icmp=kader_bookingclaim

Dutch law surrounding these class-action lawsuits limits payout of damagas to Dutch consumers unfortunately for everybody else.

Since 2013, about the time the american's solidified their control over the company, from what I remember working there then. Gee, what a coincidence.

For this case. If successful, other, international cases might follow.
