I have eaten too much sticky date pudding and I may never move again.

Green with envy.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago

I'll give you an upvote for mentioning sticky date pudding.

The fluffballs are going well 🐱

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago

They are so gorgeous.

[–] useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Those are well fed chonksters. Did you name them?

I have specifically not named them because if I do I'm going to end up with half a dozen cats and I'm not ready to retire yet lol

Late lunch!

Ended up having a little drunken slide show last night. So more Nepal from '99!

Pretty sure that's everest taken from somewhere close to namche bazaar-ish.

Almost the highest we went (only 3800m from memory).

I remember all the fit kids really felt it at that altitude. I was a naughty kid smoking durries where I could w/o getting caught, I didn't feel a thing lol. And I think that weirdly enough added to the experience for me. Sneaking off far away from the group, absolutely no one around just sitting there in the dirt staring at the views.

That's so amazing man. Would love to see something like that one day!

Having another bonfire tonight. With @Bottom_racer@aussie.zone last night I declare it burn shit weekend.

Didn't do very well with the curries I made to take to a friend's place - spice levels were all over the shop and I ran very late and spilled a whole lot in the bag (thankfully not onto the car carpets or seats). Past me would've been agonising over it all day but I'm glad I could get past it, hang out with friend, head to pub and socialise with other friends, and make it back in a good mood πŸ˜€

Bonus is I now have plenty of food for the next few days albeit not the best tasting but it'll do...

Edit: my hands still smell of garlic. Whoops. Oh well

E2: glad that I managed to summon up enough energy to load the dishwasher and clean the kitchen countertops at least - don't need to wake up to a warzone. Helped that I did all my friend's dishes at her place because I know how hard she's had it lately and that put me in a positive place

Unfortunately a little broken from today's workout - knee has blown up, so have been on the couch watching trashy stuff - just finished Joy Ride which was hilariously implausible and had some very funny parts.

Hope everyone is having a banger of an evening!

After 28 years of faithful service my toaster has finally decided to call it quits. RIP little fella.

Fortunately I have a toaster oven and was still able to cook my toast for breakfast

fancy Saturday breakfast

Back from the far away beach on the ocean.

it was awe inspiring , just standing on the sand I felt the power of the tides

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)
[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago

Miss Seagoon did and she sunk inches in the sand very quickly! I walked through and on wearing boots.

I'll post pics after I have a rest, I'm beat.

I just got fucking worked over hey.

I've been doing stuff by myself for so long I haven't been pushing as hard as I should have been.

He's had shoulder injuries in the past as well so he knows how to strengthen that part of my body pretty well.

Love this post workout high.

And now I'm going to do a lower body workout by sitting on the couch and playing video games lol

It’s been a tiring week. Wishing everyone a good and pleasant sleep.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Today's bad news: It started to rain as soon as I hung out my washing

Today's good news: I got my toaster working again. Lots of crumb removal and playing around with the lever and it started staying down again. Google tells me it is probably a magnet problem, and it could have been interfered with by a build up of crumbs or it could be nearing the end of its life. We will just have to wait and see.

I was able to smash out a reasonable rendition of Mojo Pin by Jeff Buckley tonight.

This is like winning 100 Olympic gold medals and also the lottery several times.

Goodnight everyone ❀️

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Just tacking on to this post to tell you I've had Mojo Pin stuck in my head and have been singing it (enthusiastically but not terribly well unfortunately πŸ˜†) ever since you posted this. How did I forget about Jeff Buckley? His music was such a huge part of my life at one point, and his was one of those celebrity deaths that make you feel like the whole world stopped for a moment.

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I forgot about him for a couple of years then he just popped into my head again one day.

Kinda takes you to another place.

I've been trying to sing a song of his (except hallelujah) for years and years.

Needs practice but I got most of it down.

[–] PeelerSheila@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

His voice was really something else, how he effortlessly moved from his upper to lower voice. If you can even straight up just sing one of his songs you're doing well IMO.

There's a loooooot of really fast, really sharp breaths. That's the killer. If you miss one, the whole next line is out of key because of how high you have to reach.

And thank you :)

An abundance of sausage rolls leftover! Woo.!

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

How did the party go? Give us the deets.

[–] useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I mostly stayed away from the festivities so not to be a creepy parent , but lots of singing and dancing all night , the kids were pretty respectful. There was even a French exchange student that offered to help in the kitchen lol. All good.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 2 days ago

Good stuff.

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Melbcat asked for uppies today and proceeded to have a long cuddle and scritches with a visitor! That was so cute. She pouted and sulked when cuddle time had to end before she was ready.

spoilerShe’s still crying and wanting extra food (among a couple of other things) so I called the vet again about steroids for ibd flare. They talked about the side effects, blamed the osmolax, told me to monitor and call back Monday.

It seems they don’t want to deal with it but I keep calling to stay on it as long as she’s not feeling well. If there’s something I can do for her comfort I will.

I’ve managed to screw up my sleeping pattern again.

How good are hash browns in the airfryer? Glorious I tells ya.

[–] just_kitten@aussie.zone 2 points 2 days ago

Oily potatoes are generally really great in the airfryer.

Made it to the gym for this morning's class and it was... weird. It was a dance fitness class and I am very unco. But I had fun!

[–] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That sounds like a shit load of fun!
