Honestly I am the complete opposite. Though, I am an anime watcher only, so keep that in mind.

Firstly, the worst critique that I can give SG0 is that I barely remember it.

Of what I remember, the action scenes was one of the things that reaaaally annoyed me, steins:gate was never really about that and here it was at its worst. Wanted to bang my head against the wall during those rooftop ones especially.

And I think I hated the plot twists near the end ?
I don't remember them but they were just not interesting, to me at least.

I also didn't like that what made mayuri actually act in episode was a call from herself. It kinda killed a great character moment IMO.
And I only remembered about the romance between Mayuri and Okabe 'cause of your post but, I found that romance so unnecessary and against the original story, they never were in a romantic relationship before. They went through so much shit together but their love was never romantic.

Last thing, I usually really do not care about fan service in anime (I like High School of the Dead ffs), but the boobage size increase across the board left a bad taste in my mouth.

To end this, I want to say that I dont't think it was all bad, there were some funny moments in the show and it was really nice to see kurisu and some of the characters after so long.
But when someone new to the series asks me, I tell them to not bother watching 0.

Honestly, after watching both animes and playing through both games several times, I prefer SG0 anime too but as far as the VN goes I think I prefer the original there.

I love the story arc of SG0, but in the game makes it too easy to hit the bad endings and cut the whole story really short. They did it very well in the anime.

The ending of SG0.. after the credits. so satisfying.

I liked 0 far better but I got to give credit to the original for setting it up so that the strong notes of 0 could hit as hard as they could. That ending of that one episode where they played Lyra still destroys me to this day.

I like how 0 expanded on the original but I also think the original can hold on its own.

I think 0 was a masterpiece. I love the original just as much but for different reasons.

I love depressing anime's and dystopian fiction. 0 was just absolutely heartbreaking. When you think it can't get any worse. The scene where luka wants to prove her worth so badly and then....

OG steins gate has a depressing setting but it balances nicely between depressing and uplifting. 0 takes your heart and steps on it.

From what I can remember from both, since it's been a while, I liked them both equally. I'm not the type to hate on a sequel series just because it's different and I feel as though the writing didn't take a major nosedive, so I can't really complain about either.

I enjoyed it, but not more than the original. From what I remember, which is not as much as I thought, it became a bit of a slog for me either midway through or towards the end, which didn't really have a pay off like the first eps of the original did.
