Tesseract had a lot of cool improvements that I really hope other devs would copy. A lot of the improvements are things that I personally suggested, like registration application reply templates etc

He was very responsive to feedback - positive, negative, all of it.:-)

I’m working in a Lemmy client https://blorpblorp.xyz/. I would love to ingest whatever features Tesseract had that people will miss the most. Feel free to open a GitHub issue or post to !blorp@lemmy.ml

What do you mean by "color lines"? Are you saying that it is difficult to tell which comment is the parent of a given comment?

Yes, you have described what I mean. It can be hard to read deep threads.

Just checked Blorp's comments and yes it's a lot better design with the curves. Good job in making this!

Ooh pretty. So Tesseract is another fediverse client, like PieFed/Lemmy/Mastodon ?

[–] fxomt@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Nope, it's a client for lemmy specifically, like photon/Voyager/etc

oh wow, the UI was so different I genuinely mistook it for a completely different app. Very pretty indeed, but I like my basic boring functional UIs -- gimme lists and no distractions and I will worship you

As much as I wanted to like Tesseract, this was basically my ultimate reaction to it. It was great that it included so many genuinely useful features that are not found in the default Lemmy UI, but the end result was a busy screen of ambiguous unlabeled buttons and many modals. The more minimal and information-dense Lemmy UI was preferable to even the most compact Tesseract setting for my day-to-day use.
