Dad always told me id rather be right than happy. Then kicked me out for being queer. For choosing honesty over being frictionless.
You're saying to conform rather than let your conscience or honest perception guide you. To fall in line. I think tjats fucking disgusting, when the fuckers enfircing power are frothing fascists who want me yo die. But not JUST disgusting.
He, a straight cis white dude, got social murdered. My thoroughly marginalized cynical paranoid ass is still kicking. I have saved dozens of lives. I have seen beauty he never could have. Made and lost friendships truer and deeper than he ever did. If i were a little comfier using people, I'd probabpy be generally happy right now, too.
This is something I could really stand to work on. Love seeing discussion of it :)
