I think a lot of people do disbelieve, to some extent.
Its motivated by interest kind of a 'looking away' thing, because they can't deal with the changes they woukd have to make.
No it's not rational, it's not sane, and it's so wildly maladaptive it's already causing extinctions.
But i dont think either of us look directly at it with much depth either. I think anyone who kept the whole breadth and depth and horror of the situation on their mind would very quickly find that mind all over their ceiling or making detailed plans to kill execs/politicians.
Apocalyptic hyperobjects do be like that.
Fox News: So-called "scientists" convince a so-called "court" to believe global warming myth.
A world court with no ability to enforce anything is... exactly what they are.
The US military says that climate change is a national security threat.
This is carefully ignored by officials who are deep in the pockets of the shitheads fueling climate change.
They'll just point to the studies that suggest the economy will do fine in even the worst case scenarios. Unfortunately the governments are not concerned about the consequences to the general public if they can find a way to keep themselves afloat. The proof is right there, they aren't doing everything possible to change. Change only comes if there's profit.
The UN is a social media platforn for world leaders built for virture signalling.
Yeah my first thought was, "oh cool, let's see every government in the world totally not give a shit".
