Uh, Mr. The Plague, uh, something weird's happening on the fediverse.
Cyberpunk
What is Cyberpunk?
Cyberpunk is a science-fiction sub-genre dealing with the integration of society and technology in dystopian settings. Often referred to as “low-life and high tech,” Cyberpunk stories deal with outsiders (punks) who fight against the oppressors in society (usually mega corporations that control everything) via technological means (cyber). If the punks aren’t actively fighting against a megacorp, they’re still dealing with living in a world completely dependent on high technology.
Cyberpunk characteristics include:
- Dystopian city setting where mega-corporations rule
- Full integration of technology into society, featuring cybernetic implants
- Outsider protagonists (punks) who often are very familiar with the technology around them
- Hard boiled detective and film noir vibes and influence
- Themes dabbling in trans-humanism, existentialism, and what it means to be human.

One of the very few movies from 1995 that still holds
It was so out of touch then that it hasn't gone out of date
Before one can hack the planet, one must learn how to hack 1507 computers.
Shoulda stopped at 1,337.
Some people just want to be one better. 170 times.
Mess with the best, die like the rest
If your command&control center is on dial-up, it's easier to create a self-propagating virus that does not need to phone home
See, it's because 1337 resembles the word "LEET," short for "elite."
I know but counting the infected machines and stopping at a specific number is hard if there is limited bandwidth to a central node (or no bandwidth in case of sneakerware). So early viruses could not be controlled once released nor tell if there's 1337 copies already.
Hack the planet!
Governments and corporations need people like you and me.
We are Samurai. The Keyboard Cowboys.
And all those other people who have no idea what's going on are the cattle...
Moooo.
Uhh excuse me, Mr. The Plague?
Damn. Zero Cool must be getting pretty close to retirement by now.
Nah crowd strike took his record, so now he's back at work
The Crown tanked hard in last 2 seasons. Too much focus on Diana.
You underestimate the British obsession with her.
There's a whole portion of the gutter press that continues to trade based on continuing reporting regarding Diana.
Yeah but what made The Crown amazing was how it approached lesser known aspects of royal family and their orbit.
They could've still kept Diana story running in parallel but completely focusing on her was a massive downgrade. Season 3 had Tywysog Cymru which is one of my favourites.
Ain't shit compared to crowdsrike
Dammit, I wanted to make that reference!
And crowd strike is all like "hold my beer, watch this"
Later on he started Overriding Crashes.
Is this the Matrix?
(sigh) WHY is my only copy of this movie on a VHS tape buried deep in the closet?
And I don't even have a working VCR at hand.
Sounds like it's time to hack the mainframe
Hack the planet!
Hack the Gibson, you mean
Hackers is so unapologetically queer. :3
I think that was just the 90s.
Ye, this is just what the 90's were like haha
It is?
Fairly. Cereal Killer and Phantom Freak are hella gender. Burn dreaming about Crash crossdressing and the lingere. Crash being hella chill wearing a dress for the final scene date? All of the outfits are so good. The main romantic subplot being just as much about Burn's desire for Crash as vice versa? Razor and Blade?
I've kinda stopped asking when people claim that. It never ever makes sense to me but also if they're having their own little fun with it, go off
You ever see anything set in the 90s?
at some point something weird or gay or weirdly hay will happen and someone will shrug and say: "it's the 90s".
Zero Cool might have been lying lol

Clearly he hacked the archive to cover his tracks.
This is the right answer hahahaha
