US president cuts funding for victims as state faces more than a third of killings from partner or familial violence

Domestic violence is the leading cause of homicide in Utah, according to an analysis of FBI and state data by a local news station in Salt Lake City. The investigation is based on intimate partner homicide data recently released by the state.

The station, Fox 13, found that 51 – more than a third – of the 137 homicides between July 2023 and January 2025 were the result of intimate partner or familial violence. The majority of the perpetrators were men, while the sexes of the victim were nearly evenly split, with 26 male and 25 female victims. This could be because in many cases, there were multiple victims, including a victim’s children, parents or siblings.

Maybe sending the national guard can help reduce these domestic killings by standing around on the street with guns? Surely that would work better than directly funding programs to address domestic abuse?

I actually don’t think you can fix domestic violence in Utah with awareness. Sending the National Guard actually might be the best option lol

They should've done that 150 years ago before it became an ethnostate with a govt religion

I mean, they kicked them out and they went to Utah. Haha

For providing data that challenges your preconceptions?

Edit: thought they were saying they reported me, I was very confused. This data is from the CDC, and is based on survey data, not from reports to law enforcement

No, they're saying it's the lowest reported rate. That there are structures in the predominant religion in Utah that chill reporting to government authorities. I can go on, but I'm tired.

Yep. Utah is a very weird place.

Reported data. Utah #1 in wives that shut up and take abuse—and don’t talk about it on “surveys”

But women are property don't you know? They don't deserve equal protection.

They should probably tackle people by racial characteristics. What, most of them are white men?

{clutches pearls} Well, I never! We cannot have that for white people...

Nah, trump will just claim it's all black men doing all the spousal killing and that's that
