Gibson is going for an operation tomorrow where sheโ€™ll be under anaesthetic and tbh Iโ€™m pretty worried.

Itโ€™s got to be done but yeah, fluffball is a real important part of my life and yeah. Itโ€™s stressful.

I' sending positive vibes her way. Stay strong :)

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago

Miss Meow bounced back from her general anaesthetic extremely quickly. She was back to normal the next day, much more resilient than Mr Woof who needed drugs and a cone on his head for a week.

[โ€“] Eagle@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Its tough. And wait until she protests about the lack of breakfast! Sending you both furry good wishes for a seamless experience.

[โ€“] SituationCake@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Good luck hope she recovers well!

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Good on you for taking such good care of her!

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Hope it goes well. Poor kitty.

Melbcat had a general anaesthetic for a tooth extraction at 14yo and pulled up okay. Tomorrow is never promised but I hope thatโ€™s some reassurance.

Good luck to Gibson.

Edit: If itโ€™s a tooth extraction I was told to give mine chunks of cooked meat afterwards instead of soft wet food that could get into the stitches.

If itโ€™s a late spaying or something that leaves a wound she can potentially reach, remember that a baby shirt or onesie is an option to protect the site instead of or in addition to the cone. Tricksy little hobbits.

Three weeks done in new hard job type. Now additional support is removed BUT I'm not longer having these tasks sent to me as a high priority, so now I'm getting way more normal things in combination with the hard things which is very nice. It was like 1 in 2 and now it's more like 1 in 10. Much more chill than first three weeks when it was just hard new thing all the time

i have nowhere else to bitch to but listen to this bullshit that i have to go through in fucking perth for an ADHD diagnosis (transferred from NYC). i get the referral in june and submit it to the ADHD clinic of WA that shows availability from july. they tell me it takes upwards of 8 weeks to get the referral accepted. this took 10 weeks, they accepted. in order for me to book an appointment i need to pay a $200 deposit. i pay the $200 deposit, and the first appointment isn't until the middle of january.

i'm fucking FURIOUS AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Got offered the job from the interview on Friday. Now just to decide if I actually want to take it. My replacement is starting for my current role on Thursday.

Unpopular (?) opinion: the two greatest TV shows ever are Iron Chef and Grand Designs

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I used to watch a lot of Robot Wars. Betting and demolishing. Such fun.

I loved Iron Chef. But may I add the original Good News Week?

[โ€“] Force_majeure123@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

You may, a classic

[โ€“] underwatermagpies@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Antiques Roadshow would like a word.

I honestly thought about adding it to the list. I used to rush home from school to watch it on ABC. I maintain that my two are better though

Mickey is a little fiend for these dental treats, he absolutely loves them.

I guess I'll go to petbarn and grab a massive tub of them. They're the only treat he really begs for ๐Ÿ˜‚

First time beer battered calamari rings tonight.

I'm sold on doing it that way now and not panko.

Double frying which was scary in case you end up w/ a gumboot, but it actually worked.

So far it's all smooth sailing with using my friend to help me with some business design stuff. It's much easier explaining what you need to someone who already gets the way you think. They also seem really excited to be working together again, we made a good work duo in our past job. So fingers crossed it stays all positive.

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

It's great to hear things are working out. Sounds like you'll make a great team going forward again

I used to leave my handbag in my car in the garage. Now that my car is in the yard, I bring it inside. That momentary of panic "Where did I leave it?" because I'd been out and about this weekend.

Oh it's there hiding behind the coffee table. Mother fucker. I now have a designated spot.

[โ€“] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Designated spots for things like that is very important. Especially keys, I don't understand people that just throw them anywhere and then have to do a search every time they leave the house.

[โ€“] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I've always hung my keys up in the same spot. I have taught YL the same after once having found her car keys in her handbag.

Everything in my house has a spot and if that item is not there I lose my shit.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

same, it makes life easy ๐Ÿ‘

and if you look at house design cupboards are placed where things belong, like pantries, laundry, etc . It's not rocket science

Man, indie game trailers are a real rabbithole on Youtube. You watch one and keep getting suggested more. They all look interesting but I don't have the time

I love cats. Hoping to become the eccentric cat person I wanted to be as a kid.

I just wish I was rich so I could afford to adopt the old babies and have help as I got older
