Exactly my thoughts. It crosses state lines, it's Federal. The mail system is Federally run (for now). The state has no jurisdiction over federal mail. It's also why if you cross state borders with drugs or mail them to another state, you get Federal charges.
I thought interstate commerce was regulated by the feds. Isnβt this already settled law?
This is so settled it's the foundation for a majority of the federal governments power. Im not even joking the (IMO) overly broad interpretation of the interstate commerce clause is how the federal government is able to regulate so many thing not explicitly stated in the constitution.
You can argue and I'd agree that a strong federal government is needed to some extent but the founding fathers clearly did not agree which has lead to the fed slowly taking away things that were definitely intended to be left to the states.
Wow, you can sue people the state has no jurisdiction over and collect a bounty the state has no authority to collect? Sign me up!
How would the state know?
