Accidental Renaissance

AccidentalRenaissance is for photos that look like Renaissance paintings.

This means that they look like Renaissance art in their composition, their coloring, their saturation, the angle of the scene, the types of settings, etc.

πŸ‘‰ Must be a photo. Not a meme, drawing, art, ai-generated or ai-enhanced image, screenshot, low-effort post, meta posts, video, or anything else but a photo.

πŸ‘‰ Must be SFW. No gore, porn, extreme violence, blood, corpses, or similarly disturbing content. Absolutely no pornography, even if it's "tasteful".

πŸ‘‰ Comments must be civil. No slurs of any kind or using words to insult, demean, harass, or abuse other individuals or groups.

πŸ‘‰ The Renaissance part (not the photo itself) must be accidental to the photograph. In other words, no photos of Renaissance fairs, people dressed in medieval/Renaissance clothes, etc.

πŸ‘‰ NO influencer selfies, professional photoshoots with watermarks, any type of OnlyFans-like content. We are not the place to work your side-hustle.

πŸ“Έ If you know who the photographer is, give them credit in the comment section. This is the only type of self-promotion we allow.

πŸ‘©β€πŸ¦― Alt-Text for vision-impaired users in the post body or in the comments is highly encouraged. Just pretend you are describing a photo to someone on the phone.

I would say Nepal given the flag that is barely visibile on the post in the center of the building's roof and the protests that were going on

But I'm just guessing!

That’s fucking crazy. I love how absolutely considerate everyone was, even for someone who obviously didn’t β€œbelong” there.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 3 points 2 weeks ago

I think it’s quite the opposite. They were especially considerate to him because he was a foreigner.

Cool image. What's the context?

I think a bunch of Nepalese teenagers burned down the parliament building and overthrew the government before electing the nation's first woman PM by vote held on Discord. Discord: finally living up to its name.

This is what I've heard in passing; you should still check I'm not leading you astray.

Holy based Batman. I have heard it's a left leaning revolution, but that's about it. It's about corrupt politicians being super rich while everyone else is in poverty. Sounds familiar.

That is mega based considering no government military attacked them. That's presumably the Ghandi trap at work, which is a good sign for them

I'm not sure it's particularly left or right leaning, there was a ban on social media, protests against the ban and the protestors were shot by armed police which sparked more protests and riots, the major grievance seems to be political corruption.

I don't think any of ^ really slots into a traditional left/right framework, that said the more I read about Nepalese politics the more confused I become.

the corrupt government they are overthrowing is a coalition between Nepali Congress and the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist). Although prime minister Oli comes from the communist partner in the coalition despite them being the minor partner? But I have also read that they unified ml party merged with another communist party a while back?

Either way, glad to see corrupt politicians being replaced.

Anyone else noticed archive.is started to block Mullvad?

Giving the alternatives it's kinda smart. Either this, a fast way to get a technocrat who can moderate the real election and is established enough to be accepted by the protesters the military and the general public, or someone of their own which could lead to infighting and/or might clinch on to the power and could be not accepted by those in power, or a military general.

Did I miss a option?

Wow, Gen Z actually taking action instead of complaining online? I thought I'd never see the day.
