I'll be honest I've been a political activist since I was fairly young. A good portion of that was activism under the Labour Party. I did at one point believe that the party would, if given the chance, make real political change for us socialists. Change that would be progressive.

I've since been disabused of that notion, I am no longer a member or activist of the Labour party. (I'm in Plaid Cymru now)

So in all fairness, yes there was a time where I was definitely more naïve, though I suppose I never did really consider the state of affairs to be 'Fair'.

Hate to see people's fears being absolutely spot on here. These companies have no real way or financial incentive to keep our data safe.

It's absolutely insane how tone-deaf this appears considering that a large portion of the Jewish population in the UK are actually involved in many of these protests.

You don't fight fascism with "I promise not to be fascist guys"' you actually fucking do something. Sweeping wealth taxes, universal basic income, electoral reform, actually improve people's lives and they'll stop looking to extremist idiots for answers.

For the record Lemmy has had a Nazi problem for a bit and a problem with CSAM material as well, if that's a hard stopping point for you, and fair enough if it is, you should probably start looking elsewhere.

The support for capitalism over all else is expected, neoliberals do little else, but this level of delusion? Worrying.

It's rough to see how spineless many of the Democrats are. It's difficult for us in Europe to understand but the democrats are quite right-wing, akin to the conservative party in the UK for example. So when people see the supposed 'left-wing' party in the US pulling shit like this it confuses them.

Man America really does look like a complete fucking joke to the rest of us here in Europe.

I just wish the clown show would stop affecting us all too.
