General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

He's literally implying that Jews are responsible for the genocide in Gaza.

Israeli propaganda has effectively convinced the international Jewish community that any criticism of Israel is an attack in the Jewish people. The country has weaponised legitimate fear of antisemitism into a defense against condemnation.

It's absolutely insane how tone-deaf this appears considering that a large portion of the Jewish population in the UK are actually involved in many of these protests.

[–] HumanPenguin@feddit.uk 7 points 21 hours ago

Sure many of those British Jews. Are involved in the protests.

PS Calling the protest pro Palestine is in itself a dental of Israels actions. These protests are not pro Palestine. They are very much anti Israel commuting genacide in Palestine.

Fuck Starmer. He is to scared to be honest and call them anti genacide protest. Because It reinforces the fact that he is denying that genacide is happening.

Let's start calling all his anti immigration policies. Pro Reform policies. All his anti protest policies Pro Genocide policies,

Didn’t he rise to fame defending freedom of speech?

I thought we weren't supposed to equate Israel and Jews. It's antisemitic.

Were not. But the government and Israel has always been happy to.

It is basically Israels main defence of its genocide.

How many times are they going to use the "it's not the right time for this" strategy? It's never the right time for them!

I hope for my people that the world ignores the "antisemitism" propaganda from Isreal and we stop treating a fascist dictatorship of zionists with kid gloves.

Netanyahu needs to be executed.

Israel could do the genocide without US providing money, equipment and geopolitical protection..

This issue goes beyond israel being a savage country that supports the genocide. US is just as complicit.
