How is it not a violation of the first Amendment for the Vice President to go after people for their speech?
I mean, it totally is, but the Supreme Court has already shown they will rubber-stamp anything this administration does, so there's not really anyone that can stop it.

The VP isn't going after people in this instance. He's saying that civilians going after people is cool with him.

I really think that Vance's defining characteristic is that he's an asshole.
Yeah, to some degree he's power-hungry and to some degree he's greedy and to some (minor) degree he's an ideologue and so on, but I think when it really gets down to it - if you dig all the way down to the core of his personality - he's just a plain old tedious, obnoxious, punchable asshole. And probably has been his entire life.
