I can't put holes in my roof or exterior at my current residence, but a salvaged ridge mount from Starlink seems to be getting the job done. SenseCAP Solar Node P1-Pro no longer has to stare longingly out my office window. A bit janky perhaps, but bonus points for not falling off steep roof while getting it up there!

Sounds like a good candidate for the new client base role.

Put it up there, put it into client base, favorite all your portable nodes with it, and enjoy!

Oh, you will need the new 2.7.9 alpha firmware though.

Just googled base mode, what an excellent idea! This is yet another thing that's got me excited to get back into meshtastic

I know, right. And it's literally hot off the keyboard. It was just introduced in 2.7.9.

Oh wow, that sounds really compelling. Any idea when it'll be out of alpha?

I'm not sure. I have found the alpha versions to be quite stable, so that's not a huge issue. But I wouldn't expect the 2.7 to be an alpha very much longer. It's already at 2.7.10.

I would think they'd have a beta for 2.7 coming out pretty soon, as they've probably got most of the major things worked out.
