In the northern hemisphere ... they should settle wars with a hockey tournament. It wouldn't eliminate all violence, but at least some of it.

lol ... I always used to love demonstrating the rules of the game to my younger cousins and relatives
"NO SLASHING" .... then slash someone across the shins
"NO HITTING FROM BEHIND" ... turn a player around and check them from behind
"NO BOARDING" ... push someone to the boards and push them around a bunch of times
"NO TRIPPING" ... push a player forward and trip them with your stick
"NO CROSS CHECKING" .... cross check someone and push them to the ice
"AND NO ONE TOUCHES THE GOALIE" ... then body check the goalie to demonstrate
ALL RIGHT LETS GET THIS GAME STARTED!!! .... all the small kids pick themselves up off the ice after the 'demonstrations'.
I loved doing that because older kids used to do the same to me before each game
I don't dare step onto the ice for a quiet game of hockey any more ... I value my health and life too much to do that any more.
