I want to like this so much more than I do. It does look a bit better in other photos.
I think I'd hate it less if the ship was centered on the buildings. As-is, it looks like the back fell off (which is not very typical)

Was it designed to look like it could collapse in a strong breeze?
This is a better angle that shows some of the tensile strength https://www.dreamstime.com/three-vertical-buildings-carry-surfboard-top-marina-bay-sands-hotel-singapore-luxury-hotel-artsience-museum-las-vegas-sands-image239115513
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how engineers must have had to angle everything (floors, ceilings, interior walls) so that occupants on the "slanted" tower buildings don't have the perception their building is a leaning prop....because it is.
Well . . .it’s certainly sunnier in that one.
lol Apparently, there was a lot of push back when it was first proposed, but now it has become kind of an icon of Singapore.
And there's an infinite pool on top IIRC
I assure you, the pool is finite.
Dystopian!
Caters to a very particular group of tourists.
My first time in Singapore I looked out the window of my friend’s apartment wondering why there was a ship stuck on top of a couple of buildings. It’s pretty striking.
Are you there now? Staying for F1 this weekend?
No. We're already back home. I don't like posting while I'm gone. A little paranoid, I guess.
Feel like I saw this on a video game once. The kind of thing that works in a game but not in real life.
It's a very nice and beautiful hotel, though expensive. Rooms are amazing but the rest of the hotel is super busy (especially lobby) which makes it kind of annoying once the novelty of staying there wears off. The topside pool is great for your social media points of course - which is the biggest attraction for this place. Also nice that it borders the Gardens which is always an impressive stroll at night.
If you can, go there at least once in your life. If you want a more relaxed hotel, this might not be the one for you.
Reminds me a bit of, what was it, Industria? The dystopian tower port city in Future Boy Conan.
kinda ugly no?
