Well...Considering the NCR canonically died, I wouldn't say I have high hopes. Some people are kinda salty about them being destroyed in the TV show, but I think that was their most probable fate. It was a liberal democracy in decline fighting an imperialist war of conquest to prop up a nation suffering from rising wealth inequality, not some benevolent saviors. It was clearly the better of those two, but they weren't the only choices.

This is all a moot point because the Legion already took the Hoover Dam in our world. We're on the ending slides where they enslave and purge their enemies. The bull defeated the bear after it got lucky the first time, and the corporate elites are making sure to liberal democracy out of its misery so they can rebuild the America in their image.
