Some of my favourite comedies:
-
Stath Lets Flats - C4 written by and starring Jamie and Natasia Demetriou (started in 2018 but ran until 2021. Off the wall series about a completely incompetent estate agent)
-
Such Brave Girls - BBC written by and starring Kat Sadler and BAFTA winner (3 utterly narcissistic women trying to find love in the most inappropriate ways)
-
Things You Should Have Done - BBC (a sheltered girl tries to come to terms with the sudden death of her parents and discovers she doesn't understand how anything works)
-
Two Doors Down - BBC starring Arabella Weir(retired suburban glaswegian couple try to live a quiet life and have it constantly invaded by their overbearing neighbours)
-
Here We Go - BBC starring Jim Howick of Ghosts, Katherine Parkinson of The IT Crowd and Alison Steadman (the farcical misadventures of former Olympic archer Paul, his neurotic wife and their family, spun off from the one off Pandemonium filmed during lock down)
Thank you!
I did try Stath Lets Flats but I found the humor a bit too cringey. Like... it was good, but made me wince so hard my contact lenses cracked
In approximate date order:
Department Q, Adolescence, Baby Reindeer, Black Doves, Such Brave Girls, Extraordinary, Everyone Else Burns, Litvinenko, Am I Being Unreasonable, Somewhere Boy, The Ipcress File, The Outlaws, Annika, We Are Ladyparts, Here We Go, Staged.
Ah yeah! Baby Reindeer was fantastic; Ladyparts good too. Somehow forgot about those.
Haven't heard of most of the others - will give them a bash; thanks!
