A congestion charge would be a more significant step without requiring large build-out.

Longer term, we need more public and active transport options. Every major road should have a dedicated bike path on both sides of it, with priority through most intersections. Buses should be planned to work with the train network, not in direct competition to it. And we need more strong trunk routes. A Chermside "metro", the NWTC heavy rail, etc.

But more T3 lanes wouldn't be too bad. Gympie Rd currently has 4 lanes each way for some of its length. 1 of those is a peak-hour bus lane. That should be changed to 24/7 bus lane, plus a peak-hour T3 lane, and then 2 lanes for everyone else. This would be so easy to do.

FFS Zag. The obvious answer is faster cars all round.

No speed limits, get there faster, clear the jams faster.

Thanks for coming to my BED talk.

Way less paetkibg spaces in the city will help

I remember when the M3 had a T2 lane from Garden City to Springwood. It didn't really seem to improve congestion and was continually abused.

Honestly it seems to be a half arsed attempt for governments to seem to be 'doing something' but not really achieving much.

More and better PT is the only answer if we are going to improve congestion.

Well that, and active transport please.

I'd just like my train to stop getting interrupted with railbusses but that's on me for living in logan

Agree. Logan is difficult, and finally after many years I have had the opportunity to move closer.

The busway extending to Springwood is a good start but Logan is drowning in traffic. I hope the state govt acts soon on improving PT in Logan.

Carpool lanes would be a good idea if anyone actually used them correctly and they actually encouraged carpooling, but they don't from my observations.

I used to regularly use the ones on Waterworks Road and Kelvin Grove Road, and they were mostly empty, causing even more congestion on the remaining lanes. 95% of the cars actually using them were single occupant vehicles flagrantly flouting the law, and I never once saw any enforcement.

Make public transport better, idiots!

I wonder if that new seatbelt & phone detection system they've got could be applied to detect T2 violations.

Good thinking!
