And if they don’t want further harm on their constituents back home, then they need to reopen the government. It’s very simple: Pass the clean continuing resolution, and all of this goes away

“That’s a nice constichincy ya got yourself there. It’d be a shame if something happened to it”

🤔

Actually I think the mob-speak is less blatant

Karoline Leavitt is a traitor to this country

"This is your fault." - every abuser ever.

[–] Washedupcynic@lemmy.ca 30 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Fuck you Karoline, we won't pass shit, we will not negotiate with fascist terrorists.

[–] RagingRobot@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

Are you my senator?

[–] bytesonbike@discuss.online 3 points 2 days ago

So wait... Quoting Charlie Kirk is apparently violent rhetoric but this is not?

Part of me wishes we could take this shit back in time four years and hand it to Joe Biden, with a note that says "This is why you need to jettison all the Silicon Valley proto-fascists from your contracting pools ASAP."

But a wiser bit of me knows that a time traveler showing up with a big red warning sign likely wouldn't change anyone in the prior administration's mind. The fucking national intelligence services had these people's numbers ten years ago and nobody cared then either.

The Trump administration has already frozen $18 billion in infrastructure projects in New Jersey and New York, and announced cuts to $8 billion in energy funding from 16 blue states as well.

I'm obligated to point out that this money was a subsidy for some mix of public-private and entirely private build outs of energy infrastructure intended to benefit the rapidly metasticizing AI industry.

Like, the thing he did is textbook bad. But what he is effectively doing is denying government money for wealthy bankers and billionaire industrialists. This money wasn't going to a fucking soup kitchen. It was intended to accelerate construction of new capital for the benefit of old capitalists. Which... idk, man. Maybe if you pinch Mark Zuckerburg's coin purse hard enough you'll get him to flinch.

Maybe if you pinch Mark Zuckerburg's coin purse hard enough you'll get him to flinch.

Too late. Trump doesn't need them anymore.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Well, technically..."doing something about it beforehand" is exactly what Trump is currently doing about his political enemies. It's kind of hard to fight fascism in advance, without resorting to the same tactics that fascists use.

It’s kind of hard to fight fascism in advance, without resorting to the same tactics that fascists use.

Americans have never blinked at using "fascist tactics" in Iraq or Afghanistan, or on minority neighborhoods, or along the border.

Feels late to find a moral compass now. If anything, it's almost as though fascists are uniquely exempt from fascist tactics.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Unfortunately, fascists are far more comfortable employing fascist tactics, than non-fascists. That's kind of what gives them an advantage. They have no problem doing fascist shit, in order to get what they want.

I can't wait to never hear from this frigid, anti-Christian Nazi ever again.

Christians are Nazis in waiting

Karoline Leavitt is Dolores Umbridge. I just made the connection. Pink girly aesthetic with an ugly face, false smiles, love for authoritarianism, nose firmly up the ass of the party leader, relishing in the abuses of power that hurt her enemies, and extreme levels of hypocrisy. I hate this woman so much.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 2 days ago

Kinda prefer the term "designated blond", myself. She has too little power of her own to be Umbridge, and they would easily replace her with another matching talking head.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If that's what they want, that finger points two ways.

[–] Garbagio@lemmy.zip 5 points 2 days ago

No it doesn't. Who would even? Not one Democrat has ever in 40 years been willing to press a Republican on even the most illegal shit they do.

[–] WizardofFrobozz@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Americans repoed by democrats are sitting on their asses allowing this to happen; I don’t see the problem

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 days ago

Even the conservatives in those districts?

New Hampshire sticks out as odd to me.

Traitors every one of them.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

This bitch.
