Hurling ordure at the TREACLES, especially those closely related to LessWrong.

AI-Industrial-Complex grift is fine as long as it sufficiently relates to the AI doom from the TREACLES. (Though TechTakes may be more suitable.)

This is sneer club, not debate club. Unless it's amusing debate.

[Especially don't debate the race scientists, if any sneak in - we ban and delete them as unsuitable for the server.]

Panicked Curtis Yarvin—JD Vance's guru—plans to flee USA

The arsehole was quoted:

The second Trump revolution, like the first, is failing. It is failing because it deserves to fail. It is failing because it spends all its time patting itself on the back. It is failing because its true mission, which neither it nor (still less) its supporters understand, is still as far beyond its reach as algebra is beyond a cat. Because the vengeance meted out after its failure will dwarf the vengeance after 2020—because the successes of the second revolution are so much greater than the first—I feel that I personally have to start thinking realistically about how to flee the country. Everyone else in a similar position should have a 2029 plan as well. And it is not even clear that it will wait until 2029: losing the Congress will instantly put the administration on the defensive.

Me:

So apparently not all is good in broligarchy land. Still it’s more likely he might be suffering some breakdown instead. Relatively poverty stricken people buy expensive convertibles when they have a midlife crises. People like him poop on the internet. Most likely he will be around, for sometime, causing grief

Yarvin doesn’t think Trump has the guts to pull off a full fascist nightmare.

It physically pains me to say this, but I think Yarvin is correct here. What IS getting done is bad enough, but he's right that you can't really half-ass a hostile takeover, which is what Trump et al seem to be doing. Yes, they're fucking the US systems up, badly, but they're leaving the structures too intact. They're still bothering with things like court cases and gerrymandering. You don't bother with gerrymandering if you're not planning on still having elections, yknow?

I also think Yarvin is correct that Trump and crew will ultimately fail because of it. That's probably cold comfort to the people who have already lost loved ones, or who are dying or going to die because of this administration (and as a trans person myself, I may well be among that number), but it's not nothing.

@EponymousBosh Of course there will be elections. Putin does elections too, they work wonderfully!

Amazing how he looks like an annoying Seinfeld extra in that picture.

He looks like he played Micheal Bolton in Office Space.

Damn, can't unsee. Indeed.

He def is the type to lock his door when a poc/poor person walks up to his car.

@Soyweiser @sneerclub It struck me more as a SNL character that didn't really work out. Definitely a face for comedy...

He’s got a brain for silent monastic life too, a man of many talents

Curtis Yarvin goes to prison. He has two cellmates. He asks them why they're there. "I helped Trump destroy the country", one of them replies. "Well I'm here because Trump didn't destroy the country", Yarvin retorts. They turn to the third man, who says: "I am Donald Trump."

I hope Yarvin hangs someday. Ideally not by vigilantes

[–] grumpybozo@toad.social 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

@captainlezbian @sneerclub it would be unsurprising if he were to have an autoerotic asphyxiation mishap.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Yeah but the jury would make that really weird

we have an obligation not to inflict him on anyone else

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 13 points 3 days ago

Or you could send him to Australia, as payback for Murdoch.

[–] istewart@awful.systems 11 points 3 days ago

Anybody want to pitch in to get him a basic e-bike and a solar charge setup? He could probably fund his egress the rest of the way by posting a travelogue, that might turn into some choice content around the time he hits El Paso
