Fuck every piece of shit that voted for this

You can do that in your personal life with the choices you make. If we all start ostracizing these people and their associates, cutting them, their businesses and their employers businesses from our lives, we disempower them. We are under threat and need to start changing our daily lives to adequately respond to this new reality.

You had me at cutting them

Damn if only there was a widespread movement focused on defunding the police so they can't be used as a military force for fascism.

I'm so tired

You can't run a campaign on defunding the police. That's unelectable.

You can only run a campaign on improving the police by giving them more training. And then you need to do a bunch of photo-ops with police officers to prove you still love and support them. And if anyone says you're anti-police, you need to say Aktuly They're Anti-Police and you're the most pro-police candidate on the ballot.

And then, if you alienate a chunk of your base voters, because they're exhausted from over policing and sincerely cannot tell the difference between two parties insisting "We're The Ones Who Support Police The Most", its their fault when you lose because they couldn't read between the lines.

But also, if you win, never actually use your police powers to prosecute anyone in the opposition party that was flagrantly breaking whole textbooks full of laws. Only prosecute college students waving anti-war protest signs. And civil rights activists demanding equal treatment for LGBTQ / PoC. And TikTok, because its too Chinese.

That's the path to a real majority. You'd know that if you listened to these millionaire consultants Keir Starmer and Liz Cheney recommended to us.

Liberals come up with the most easily twisted slogans. The 1% thing threatened too many people, should have been the .001%. Defund the police has nothing much to do with the actual policy we want, but guess how it sounds.

Defund the police has nothing much to do with the actual policy we want

My city has a $3B budget and $1B of it goes to cops. And every year the divide gets worse.

100% "Defund the Police" is what I want. It's bleeding every other city service and amenity dry.

In fact it wasn't quiet, there was constant fanfare and ceremony. It's just historians can't pick out a particular red line moment because every week is a Watergate and that it all becomes the baseline of normalcy in Trump's post-truth era.

If we wanted to point to an official declaration of the police state wielded against perceived domestic enemies, that's NSPM-7.
