Oh wow! That's what this will be. I had no idea wrestling what this popular with people over 13.
@Nath i think a lot of people even turned up to watch the plane with them on board come into land yesterday.
In an Australian-exclusive coup, Perth will host a back-to-back weekend of three iconic WWE events, kicking off with Friday Night SmackDownbefore excitement peaks on Saturday with the headline event, Crown Jewel: Perth, and closing out with Monday Night RAW.
Additional WWE activations and fan events will take place in Perth, including:
a free kick-off event open to the public at Forrest Place in the CBD on Friday, 10 October at 5pm, featuring appearances from WWE superstars including Bronson Reed, Grayson Waller, Rhea Ripley, Seth Rollins and many more;
a WWE pop-up superstore offering exclusive merchandise will run from Thursday, 9 October to Monday, 13 October in Murray Street Mall;
a one-kilometre custom lighting trail will guide fans from the merchandise superstore through Yagan Square to RAC Arena, featuring special effects and interactive screens showing AI-powered WWE superstars; and
the pop-up Netflix Sports Club at the Northbridge Brewing Company on Saturday and Sunday, where fans can enjoy a tailgate-style party with interactive activities and an onsite barber offering WWE-inspired styles.
First you got the UFC twice in a row? and now WWE as well
Attracting WWE to Perth is part of the Cook Government's economic diversification strategy to host a year-round calendar of events, draw out-of-state visitors and generating valuable tourism dollars for local businesses and jobs.
Ah this makes sense now
@Eyekaytee @Nath Yeah, govt keeps opening its wallet to bring entertainment and sports over.
Personally, I don't like them funding UFC, and advertising it on the bridge they promised would never be used for advertising. But I read it's to try and sway the "bogan vote".
I was a huge WWF fan back in the 90's when I was a kid right up until about 2003, so end of high school and then started watching UFC when Rhonda Rousey was fighting Holm back in 2015
But over the last few years have stopped watching when President Dickhead started to show up at every event and sitting in the front row and hearing and seeing fighters simp for him๐คฎ
I've since moved onto the NRL and support the Dolphins, hopefully the Perth Bears give Perth some more (Australian) entertainment options
@Eyekaytee Bears could be a good thing. Obvs once people get over the name.

Bears? Yeah, that's a bit 19th century, isn't it? We're no longer English immigrants trying to bring the familiar from Europe with us to a new land. Surely we could go with a WA animal. Perth Dugites?
Hell, I'd rather Quokkas than Bears. Probably our most famous animal at this point.
Oh man! I'm convinced now on Quokkas
No to mention in Darwin one of our better rugby teams is the litchfield bears.
Co-opt our name. Now in 100 million years what when we get an nrl team what can we call them? The Darwin crocs?
An obvious mother joke here, and no one went for it.
I'm really tired. Please tell me.
what is the obvious joke?
They're lining up for a shag with your mum?
(Sorry)
I was first in line. Can recommend.
Some kind of book launch/signing at the bookshop would be my guess.
I don't want to stereotype or anything, but the mood didn't quite match with my past experiences of people lining up for a book signing. Those people with luggage look like they've just landed, taken the train to Perth and immediately joined the line instead of going to their hotel. Besides, what bookshop? White Dwarf books is in the other direction.
Pigface Bookstore. Signage is visible in the photo, approximately where the line starts.
Huh. That's two things I've learned from this thread. In my defense, they've just opened/moved there. I'll have to go check them out.
WWE is in town all week, gonna be like that for a few days, I'll be one of those dudes in a couple of days.
Bek'lor's tour starts today, not sure which city. But if all the Games Workshop stores are empty then you've got your answer
queing in an absurdly long line for something is quite common in inner city cbds. always fun to see
In Melbourne it's usually a sneaker release of all things.
