"Governments announce full details of $102.5m algal bloom"

i thought they were creating an algal bloom, reading that title.

reading the article, there seems to be some unusual concepts like "AI powered submersible cytobots", "clay and gyroid absorbent sponge technology" as well as some odd policies like a tourism package and life saving patrols inspecting the water.

lot of focus about new things, with no mention of reducing pollution and climate change. is that not an option? is it just not mentioned?

are these new measures better than reducing pollution and climate change, or is it just politics like "carbon capture and storage"?

what's with this anti protest stuff lately? why aren't there rallies held to protest about that? seems like a very pressing issue.

in brisbane not long ago, there was a protest planned at a bridge. police went to court over it, the protestors lost and were banned from the bridge. But the protest went ahead anyway by a last minute route change to a different bridge

ACU registered nearly 6,000 cases of alleged academic misconduct across its nine campuses in 2024, according to internal documents seen by the ABC. About 90 per cent of those referrals related to AI use.

In a statement, deputy vice-chancellor Tania Broadley told the ABC those figures were "substantially overstated".>

90%, that's a pretty big number!

it blows my mind that colesworth put their clearance prices at like 15 cents below full price. no wonder so much food goes to waste.

some christmas decorations are already up in stores. thank goodness halloween exists, as a powerful brick wall to stop the christmacization of wesfarmers and colesworth from occuring even earlier.

it sucks that concession use is targeted heavily by ticketos. i don't think its like this in any other state and territory. wish the vic government would do a royal commission on ticket inspectors.

everyone is eligible for full adult fare> that's good to hear

i am considering getting a full fare myki while eligible for concession as i heard the ticket inspectors target concession mykis hard, and you may need to go through hassle to get certain ID to use a concession myki. which doesn't seem worth the discount

But if you are obviously eligible for some kind of concession (student, senior, child, whatever) is using the full fare myki fineable? and would authorised officers try to target you for this? i couldn't find any information about this

has anyone actually done this?

my guess is because it's the next state election in australia (march 2026)? can't think of another reason for them to choose SA in particular

queing in an absurdly long line for something is quite common in inner city cbds. always fun to see
