DisruptWars is a movement targeting the weapons manufacturing pipeline in Australia. In this case HTA is responsible for treating all F-35 parts manufactured in 'australia'. This disruption used tea as a centrepiece. Tea culture in the Arab world predates British colonialism by centuries.

Well done on the idea of the protest. Offering tea/shay. Shay is such a communal and widespread drink, an invitation to the weapons manufacturer like that, as the centre piece for the protest is inspiring. Seems two protestors were arrested, so maybe in the execution it was harder to strike the right tone. That shouldn't deter them from trying this or variations on this again, they've struck on something here that could become really meaningful.

Is it not possible to crosspost from pixelfed to Lemmy?

[–] Zenith@aussie.zone 2 points 2 months ago

If so, I'd love to know how

Pretty sure I've seen it done before, but then comments didn't work properly between Pixelfed and Lemmy.
