Long rambling story
When I got my current soulcat, we went to the shelter during kitten season. She had just gotten snipped like an hour before and she was napping and coming out of anesthesia on the shelter worker's lap. I was sitting next to him. She woke up, crawled over to my lap, and tried to doze off again. We gave her a few minutes, then we went into the room we were supposed to officially meet the cat in.
There was another couple in the shelter looking for kitties, and my kitten is gorgeous so like I was a little worried they'd want her too. I'm pretty sure they did. We all crowded in the little "meet the cats room" where I was supposed to have my first interaction with her. she made the rounds to say hello to everyone and then just wanted to cuddle with me.
We wanted two cats, but we all agreed I am her human so she went back into kitty jail while we tried to find a cat that would pick my wife. Our orange dummy/stealth genius (he has figured out how to get me out of chairs and then will steal my warm spot, the little shit) picked my wife.
While we were trying to decide on cats, I wandered around saying hi to all the kitties. every time I walked by my current soulcat's cage there was a definite "stay here with me!/take me with you!/doesn't matter where we go as long as we're together" she wasn't aiming at anyone else.

Anyways this reminded me of that occasion. She just wanted me to carry her around for 15 minutes. Got the same feeling in my heart as back then, and this photo brings it too.
