Issue 8 of Quarter Up (nantucketlit.com)
submitted 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) by automaticdoor75@sopuli.xyz to c/pinball@lemmy.world

Here is the fall 2025 issue of Quarter Up, a free online magazine about pinball and retro arcade gaming.

In this issue, AT Gonzalez gives a preview of this month's Houston Arcade Expo. Everyone is excited to play Stern's new pinball game Star Wars: Fall of the Empire.

Houston's own Barrels of Fun is showing off their new pinball game Winchester Mystery House. The art for Winchester is by Brad Albright, who did the cover for our fourth issue back in 2023.

Also in this issue:

  • An interview with tourney organizer Luke "Launch" Tran, a fixture of Houston's fighting-game community.
  • Battle of the Cabinets: Andres Alcoser covers the history of the Taito Vewlix and Namco Noir cabinets
  • Views from the Road
  • Reader questions
  • Lee Tursi discusses Namco's ill-fated ShiftLook, their attempt to revive some of their more obscure titles.

Enjoy!

Yes, it does look interesting. The Winchester mansion is a fun premise for a pinball game.
