Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

MODERATORS

Israel trying to pass the hospital bombing off as Palestine doing it is utterly disgusting and guarantees Netanyahu a spot in the deepest pit of Hell for all eternity, obviously, but do not forget that

a) the only reason why Westerners will believe it is because they want to believe it - they are not being brainwashed and this is not some masterful propaganda being weaved around us to turn kind-hearted people into monsters,

b) no Westerner opinions matter at all. In most Western countries there is no real anti-Israel option to vote for even if they did realize that Israel was a giant factory for crimes against humanity, and Westerners protesting against things in general almost never achieves anything (tens of millions protested for BLM in 2020 and not only did the situation not change, it got worse), and

c) the people whose opinions do matter (both the people in the region, and the leaders who aren't already Zionist compradors) already know that Israel is full of shit and that they just murdered nearly a thousand civilians in a single bomb attack.

It is despair-inducing to think that the genocidal Zionist entity is so brazenly, so smugly getting away with bullshitting this away into a cloud of confusion, as they release their metaphorical squid ink just like they did with the stupid babies story, but the propaganda and the media narrative that they are creating isn't what matters. It cannot address the fundamental contradictions ripping the country, the region, and the world apart any more than masterfully-applied makeup can fix a stab wound. It can merely obfuscate.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account. Alt here.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is still Palestine! Feel free to chime in with books, essays, longform articles, even stories and anecdotes or rants.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

The weekly update isn't coming because I'm sick and too focussed on the collapse of the Zionist entity.

Links and Stuff

The bulletins site is down.

Examples of Ukrainian Nazis and fascists

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

Couple of things on the whole "It wasn't Israel who bombed the hospital" thing. The evidence they provided is flawed, like there's people pointing out that the phone comms between the "Hamas operatives" sounds very weird at best, first because the accent is kinda forced (That is according to arab speakers, and I am not one) and second because it violates every protocol Hamas has, especially considering their comms aren't usually heard by the IDF (because they don't use phones) yet, curiously, they did for this very specific case.

Also the whole rocket misfire thing, like we see in one video that a rocket explodes in mid-air, and seconds after an explosion goes off in the ground. How the fuck did it happen? Does it even have enough time explode, fall into the earth and miraculously into a yard filled with people? Like it happens almost instantly, rocket explodes in mid air and mere moments later a huge explosion below.

Turns out the Orthodox church wasn't hit, a building next to it was.

This doesn't change the fact church members and the people sheltered there died. But the third oldest church in the world is still standing.

The yuan has overtaken the euro in international payments, according to SWIFT data.

Europe's economic role in the world continues to decline. Actually, this is one of the goals of the war launched by the United States. Eliminate Europe's chances of economic competition with the United States and increase the political, military and economic enslavement of Europe. At the same time, the European establishment is well aware of the detrimental nature of the current course for the European economy, but is forced to submit to Washington’s policies, even to the detriment of its own economy. A clear example of what the lack of military-political subjectivity leads to.

Wait can Biden actually force TV channels to air his (non-emergency) address?

Isn't that not very freedom of speech-y?

Just in case it was missed due to the hospital bombing:

Gaza: IDF airstrike a UNRWA school sheltering displaced families

“At least six people were killed this afternoon when an UNRWA school was hit in al-Maghazi refugee camp, in Gaza’s middle area. “Dozens were injured (including UNRWA staff) and severe structural damage was caused to the school. “The numbers are likely to be higher. This is outrageous, and it again shows a flagrant disregard for the lives of civilians. No place is safe in Gaza anymore, not even UNRWA facilities." The school was hit during Israeli forces airstrikes and bombardment on the Gaza Strip. "At least 4,000 people have taken refuge in this UNRWA school turned shelter. They had and still have nowhere else to go."

Protests reported near NATO base in Turkey’s Malatya We are getting reports of angry protesters massing near a NATO facility in Turkey’s Malatya province, where US servicemen are believed to be also stationed.

Al Jazeera Arabic is reporting that the demonstrators gathered outside Kurecik Radar Station to denounce the deadly air strike on a hospital in Gaza, which Palestinian authorities blame on Israel.

A video clip posted by Al Jazeera Arabic on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter, showed demonstrators waving Palestinian flags and shouting pro-Palestinian slogans, as Turkish police stood behind guardrails to protect the NATO facility.

— 🗳❌1 Against (USA)

Israel says: "Gazans, go south to avoid the fighting!" Then Israel starts to shell the south and unfortunately there are civilian causalities. Funny how that works.

In this war is this Israel's first strike on southern Gaza causing deaths? Fuel trucks have just started going North from Egypt into Gaza.

At least 5 killed and 15 injured in Israeli airstrike in Rafah, Palestinian interior ministry says

At least five people were killed and 15 others were injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted a multi-story house in Rafah in the southern Gaza strip, the Palestinian interior ministry said Monday.

The ministry said the airstrike happened without prior warning from the Israel Defense Forces.

The IDF has not issued any comments about the strike.

Top story right now on CNN’s website is about how they have done a big “CNN Investigates” on the Gaza hospital. And of course, their in-depth, independent analysis shows that the explosion was due to a rocket from Gaza. Afaik their “in-depth analysis” just consists of talking to former US military officers and RAND Corp freaks.

I haven’t really been following this stuff all that closely, so I don’t know how to debunk what they’re saying but FYI western media is doubling down on it NOT being the Israelis after Al-Jazeera explained how it was them.

Edit: again, I’m not really good on all this OSINT stuff but it seems like their “analysis” is just regurgitating stuff we heard like 3 days ago. Smol crater, that doesn’t sound like a JDAM, etc. Early in the article they seem to say it was a rocket that blew up mid flight and the debris lit cars on fire (ok….). Then they talk about that scorch pattern or whatever that CLEARLY shows it came from the northeast. Except they say “well a rocket from the SW would have burned up the ground on approach, causing that pattern, or something falling wouldn’t have left anything like that”… completely contradicting their falling schrapnel theory.

US Commanders Assume Role in Israeli Operations against Gaza [Tasnim Exclusive]

Due to the severe psychological distress experienced by a majority of Israeli military commanders, a number of American commanders have taken charge of 'some of their operations' since the commencement of Zionist attacks on Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Take with grain of salt.

Signs it's an airstrike: size of the explosion, A/V evidence corresponding with JDAM strike signature, Israel saying that hospitals were fair game, previous israeli attacks on this building, almost all governments blaming Israel

Signs it was a Hamas rocket: Israel says so

The Israelis "feel very strongly", eh?

The White House spokesman John F. Kirby, pressed on Biden’s call with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, did not say whether Netanyahu directly denied responsibility for the explosion, but said, “I think we certainly recognize that they feel very strongly that this was not caused by them.”
