Israel trying to pass the hospital bombing off as Palestine doing it is utterly disgusting and guarantees Netanyahu a spot in the deepest pit of Hell for all eternity, obviously, but do not forget that

a) the only reason why Westerners will believe it is because they want to believe it - they are not being brainwashed and this is not some masterful propaganda being weaved around us to turn kind-hearted people into monsters,

b) no Westerner opinions matter at all. In most Western countries there is no real anti-Israel option to vote for even if they did realize that Israel was a giant factory for crimes against humanity, and Westerners protesting against things in general almost never achieves anything (tens of millions protested for BLM in 2020 and not only did the situation not change, it got worse), and

c) the people whose opinions do matter (both the people in the region, and the leaders who aren't already Zionist compradors) already know that Israel is full of shit and that they just murdered nearly a thousand civilians in a single bomb attack.

It is despair-inducing to think that the genocidal Zionist entity is so brazenly, so smugly getting away with bullshitting this away into a cloud of confusion, as they release their metaphorical squid ink just like they did with the stupid babies story, but the propaganda and the media narrative that they are creating isn't what matters. It cannot address the fundamental contradictions ripping the country, the region, and the world apart any more than masterfully-applied makeup can fix a stab wound. It can merely obfuscate.

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

UNRWA daily-ish reports on Israel's destruction and siege of Gaza and the West Bank.

English-language Palestinian Marxist-Leninist twitter account. Alt here.
English-language twitter account that collates news (and has automated posting when the person running it goes to sleep).
Arab-language twitter account with videos and images of fighting.
English-language (with some Arab retweets) Twitter account based in Lebanon.
English-language Palestinian Twitter account which reports on news from the Resistance Axis.

English-language PalestineResist telegram channel.

Various sources that are covering the Ukraine conflict are also covering the one in Palestine, like Rybar.

The Country of the Week is still Palestine! Feel free to chime in with books, essays, longform articles, even stories and anecdotes or rants.

Here is the map of the Ukraine conflict, courtesy of Wikipedia.

The weekly update isn't coming because I'm sick and too focussed on the collapse of the Zionist entity.

Resources For Understanding The War

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.

Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent and very good journalist reporting in the warzone on the separatists' side.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

Pro-Russian

https://t.me/aleksandr_skif ~ DPR's former Defense Minister and Colonel in the DPR's forces. Russian language.

https://t.me/Slavyangrad ~ A few different pro-Russian people gather frequent content for this channel (~100 posts per day), some socialist, but all socially reactionary. If you can only tolerate using one Russian telegram channel, I would recommend this one.

https://t.me/s/levigodman ~ Does daily update posts.

https://t.me/patricklancasternewstoday ~ Patrick Lancaster's telegram channel.

https://t.me/gonzowarr ~ A big Russian commentator.

https://t.me/rybar ~ One of, if not the, biggest Russian telegram channels focussing on the war out there. Actually quite balanced, maybe even pessimistic about Russia. Produces interesting and useful maps.

https://t.me/epoddubny ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/boris_rozhin ~ Russian language.

https://t.me/mod_russia_en ~ Russian Ministry of Defense. Does daily, if rather bland updates on the number of Ukrainians killed, etc. The figures appear to be approximately accurate; if you want, reduce all numbers by 25% as a 'propaganda tax', if you don't believe them. Does not cover everything, for obvious reasons, and virtually never details Russian losses.

https://t.me/UkraineHumanRightsAbuses ~ Pro-Russian, documents abuses that Ukraine commits.

Pro-Ukraine

Almost every Western media outlet.

https://discord.gg/projectowl ~ Pro-Ukrainian OSINT Discord.

https://t.me/ice_inii ~ Alleged Ukrainian account with a rather cynical take on the entire thing.

The Palestinian Red Crescent says at least three Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank and 78 others have been injured.

A general strike was declared in cities across the West Bank and Palestinians have been taking to the streets to protest the deadly Gaza hospital attack.

The Red Crescent said the wounded victims fall into one of four categories based on the nature of their injuries:

  • 13, live fire
  • 3, assault and battery
  • 3, shrapnel
  • 59, tear gas inhalation

It added that at least 23 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank and 1,399 others have been injured since the start of the Hamas-Israel war on October 7.

Rybar analysis on rhetoric about ground operation. Basically says they've made a mistake by overpromising results and this mistake will have severe consequences if (more likely when) the ground operation goes badly.

spoilerWhen discussing the possibility of a ground operation by the Israel Defense Forces in the Gaza Strip, it is important to acknowledge that this option would be extremely challenging to execute. Despite Israel's technological superiority, it should not be assumed that this would be an easy task.

While just a week ago there was widespread speculation in Tel Aviv about the imminent start of the ground phase, the media has now adopted a more cautious approach in assessing the timing and prospects of the operation. This can be seen in a more restrained analysis published by Haaretz (https://www.haaretz.co.il/news/politics/2023-10-19/ty-article/.highlight/0000018b-445e-d242-abef-567e21a10000).

However, it is worth noting that the initial mistake made by the authorities has had an impact. Israeli society now expects significant results from the government, and the bar of expectation has been set very high. Any deviation from the plan, such as large losses or a prolonged conflict, could have serious consequences.

This situation has been exacerbated by the regular rumors from Israeli officials about the imminent end of Hamas and the complete capture of the Gaza Strip. The IDF is now expected to achieve this goal in a short period of time without wasting significant resources, which is virtually impossible.

📌 It is interesting to observe how the events in the Gaza Strip are intertwined with the ongoing offensive of the Russian Armed Forces in Ukraine. There are also high expectations in Russian society regarding this offensive.

For instance, the assault on Avdeevka, in terms of the fortified area's structure and the defense built around the suburb, not only compares to Bakhmut but may even surpass it. The Russian forces are taking a gradual approach to minimize losses and ensure progress.

However, as soon as the Russian fighters began to consolidate their positions and regroup, there were discussions on the internet about the supposed failure of the assault on Avdeevka. This emotional reaction is significant, but it should not be taken into account when planning the offensive, as it does not reflect the actual progress being made.

Putin’s press conference following the results of the “One Belt, One Road” forum

spoiler

🔻 Israeli conflict:

▪️ The attack on the hospital in Gaza is a terrible event, a disaster, perhaps it will serve as a reason for negotiations.

▪️ The countries of the Middle East do not want the continuation of hostilities and the outbreak of a full-fledged war.

▪️ There are prerequisites that the main players do not want the Palestinian-Israeli conflict to deepen.

▪️ Russia has always advocated the creation of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem, regardless of the escalation of the conflict.

🔻 SMO zone:

▪️ ATACMS deliveries to Ukraine are harmful and pose an additional threat, but Russia will adapt to repel such attacks. The United States is being drawn even further into the conflict in Ukraine by supplying long-range missiles.

▪️ ATACMS missiles will not radically change the situation on the contact line. The supply of these weapons will only prolong the agony of Ukraine.

▪️ The Kyiv regime has long announced an offensive in the Kherson direction: there is no result, but there are losses.

▪️ The Russian Aerospace Forces will begin constant patrolling of the airspace over the Black Sea by aircraft equipped with the Kinzhal complexes.

▪️The President noted that peace negotiations with Ukraine do not require “theatrical gestures,” but the repeal of Kyiv’s decree banning such negotiations.

From Al Jazeera's daily live blog -

Malaysia latest to withdraw from Frankfurt Book Fair over ‘pro-Israel stance’

Malaysia’s education ministry has pulled out of the annual Frankfurt Book Fair, accusing the event’s organisers of adopting a pro-Israel stance.

“The ministry will not compromise with Israel’s violence in Palestine, which clearly violates international laws and human rights,” the ministry said in a statement.

“The decision by the Ministry of Education is in line with the government’s position to always stand in solidarity and give full support to Palestine.”

Several publishing organisations from the Middle East and elsewhere have also withdrawn from the literary festival, including the Arab Publishers Association, the Emirates Publishers Association, Sharjah Book Authority and PublisHer, the industry magazine Publishing Perspectives reported.

The withdrawals follow the postponement of the festival’s awards ceremony to honour Palestine-born author Adania Shibli due to Hamas’s on Israel, according to Publishing Perspectives.

TV Legal experts must be so excited right now - CNN and MSNBC are taking a break from war coverage to talk about Sidney Powell pleading guilty.

Lawyer Sidney Powell pleaded guilty to reduced charges Thursday over efforts to overturn Donald Trump's loss in the 2020 election in Georgia, becoming the second defendant in the sprawling case to reach a deal with prosecutors.

Edit

The tone is markedly different from war coverage. There's a buzz. It's like sports - the pregame coverage before a championship game.

Question to anyone who's more well versed in them than me: Why would Hamas congratulate Azerbaijan for their successful ethnic cleansing?

Note: This is not a "why wont you condemn hamas" post, i am legit interested in what is behind this. Simply cause they started to look for western protection? Because Turkey supported them?

The principal military advantage of an air burst over a ground burst is that the energy from the explosion (as well as any shell fragments) is distributed more evenly over a wider area; however, the peak energy is lower at ground zero.

Where are hexbears getting their war info from? I don't doubt anyone's knowledge on weapons or tactics but where do you learn this from

Pretty sure I can explain the video going around of the supposed "Hamas rocket misfire".

It's a MANPADS missile that self destructs in the air. It was probably fired by Hamas at an incoming plane. Look up videos of MANPADS. The small explosion of fragments they make looks exactly like the one in the video in the air.

The other two explosions on the ground are almost certainly Israeli bombs.

Edit: Even the flight time of the missile matches. The Stinger missile (easiest equivalent to find info on) flies for up to 15-19 seconds which roughly matches the flight time in the video - after which it automatically self destructs.

A three-pulse motor provides additional acceleration and maneuverability during the terminal phase

This is from a different missile, but I believe the concept applies generally in anti-air missiles, and it explains the sudden speed-up and smoke trail before self destruction.

Edit2: And we have seen proof that Hamas has Iranian MANPADS

I don't think it was just for economic reasons that capitalists and feds astroturfed the antimask/antivax/return-to-normal movement so hard. I think they correctly recognized covid as a potential insurrectionary flashpoint.

Some partial results started to filter through the media showing Economy Minister Sergio Massa having a stronger-than-expected election, with some even whispering the government’s candidate is leading the vote.

This is based on the result of individual ballots that are scanned and sent to the electoral authorities - getting leaked on the way. While we still have to wait a few hours for consolidated results, things are looking good for Massa tonight.

RIP ancap guy god, why would anyone even want this job, the Argentina economy seems on the brink of collapse
