At 3.5 inches long, no offense to any men of that size, I don't think this was for sexual pleasure. It would be just as easy to make something larger. But that size just barely even works as a dildo since you'd have to kind of pinch the end of it to insert it. Also, the second image there shows it on a similar little table with a cut fruit and a cup.

3.5” is more than enough for sexual pleasure. I have it on good authority.

🥺

We've been deceived! How about a banana, for scale, next time OP? If that's 3.5 inches (10.5 barley corns), then it's girth (lol) or more properly diameter, is about 3/4" (just over 2 barley corns).

Well, it could likely be a Persian cucumber, given that it's from Egypt. Those are about exactly that size when they're harvested. On the other hand, they have a more even shape compared to the one here. 🤷‍♂️

I'm going to imagine that cucumbers may have gone thru some changes since 1850BC - sheesh that seems like a long time ago. How cool is that, tho', that we are discussing a nearly 4000 year old artifact!

Aww it’s a little poo! 🥰

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar?

Maybe the suction cup was made of wood!

I somehow think the method for decoding what the object is is more rigorous than some guy being "oh i dunno I guess it's a cucumber maybe?

Context

A) Mortar & Pestle

B) Tea set with cucumber

C) Breakfast in bed with dildo

Yes it is. It has the remnants of its glaze upon it. No one wants glaze shards in their privates.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 16 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Glazing would make it substantially smoother and moreover with the right glazing significantly less porous. What are you planning on doing that a lack of glazing would be appreciated, if it's not glazed it would soak up liquids, feel dry constantly and be incredibly rough.

[–] QuoVadisHomines@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Glazing when cracked would make for sharp flaky surfaces. Almost no one wants to embed shards of glaze in themselves. We used other smoother materials for sex toys.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You do understand we have ancient pottery with glazing intact right? It's not normally something to flake off except over extremely lang periods of time and wear.

[–] QuoVadisHomines@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Yes and that pottery was used for different purposes.

You know we have ancient sex toys and they tend to not be 3.5 inch long pieces of ceramic, right?

[–] Wrufieotnak@feddit.org 1 points 2 days ago

That wasn't what you said in the first comment though. You mentioned only the glace as argument against it being a sex toy and the other comment answered to that single claim specifically.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Do we know all the purposes? No.

We know we have what we believe are sex toys and those are anything from wood to bone anywhere from a few inches to almost a foot iirc.

We don't know but predicting your incredulity on glazing being "flaky" is interesting given that glazing normally isn't flaky and we have ceramic and glass sex toys today.

Like I dunno this gourd shaped one.

Point being a carpenter has access to wood, a potter has access to clay. People work with what they've got and people are horny weirdos, there's going to be a few odd sex toys throughout history.

No flared base... hopefully it is just a cucumber...

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago

It's so obvious that it's not a cucumber model. The most likely explanation of this object is that someone's friend dared them to eat only wet clay for two weeks. After significant constipation, they shit out the smoothest turd ever known to mankind. Of course, they did the reasonable thing in this situation and fired, glazed, and displayed their achievement.

It makes perfect sense when it is the accepted females to be the impure vessels that they are. God did not make women in his image, no, God created women from one side of man.

She is not imbued with the same qualities that makes a man similar to God.

I cant remember what I was just talking about...

And oh shit. I sound like a "forever alone incel"

But also, culturally, women have naturally been "hornier" than their male counterpart

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Cites Christianity, realizes he sounds like an incel.

Maybe further inspection of this is warranted. On your end.
