⚄︎ Perchance

This is a Lemmy Community for perchance.org, a platform for sharing and creating random text generators.

Feel free to ask for help, share your generators, and start friendly discussions at your leisure :)

This community is mainly for discussions between those who are building generators. For discussions about using generators, especially the popular AI ones, the community-led Casual Perchance forum is likely a more appropriate venue.

See this post for the Complete Guide to Posting Here on the Community!

3. Be thankful to those who try to help you.

  • If you ask a question and someone has made a effort to help you out, please remember to be thankful! Even if they don't manage to help you solve your problem - remember that they're spending time out of their day to try to help a stranger :)

  • Please only post about perchance related stuff like generators on it, bugs, and the site.

5. Refrain from requesting Prompts for the AI Tools.

  • We would like to ask to refrain from posting here needing help specifically with prompting/achieving certain results with the AI plugins (text-to-image-plugin and ai-text-plugin) e.g. "What is the good prompt for X?", "How to achieve X with Y generator?"
  • See Perchance AI FAQ for FAQ about the AI tools.
  • You can ask for help with prompting at the 'sister' community Casual Perchance, which is for more casual discussions.
  • We will still be helping/answering questions about the plugins as long as it is related to building generators with them.

6. Search through the Community Before Posting.

  • Please Search through the Community Posts here (and on Reddit) before posting to see if what you will post has similar post/already been posted.

Hi all I am new to AI images and struggling with a simple command. I am trying to get a person, standing in a swimming pool, waist-deep in water. 90% of the returned images only give me a person standing around knee-deep, some not even in the bloody water!

Any adivce on what I need to ask the AI? I have tried the obvious! "waist-deep in water" "Water over waist" etc

I apologise that this is probably a very basic question!

yea i noticed it struggles with water if even one image out of the bunch was good you can just try to generate more and more. i was trying to make a character that was under water. out of 100 images maybe 3 were good most of them were above water or the water was in this weird unnatural state were the the surface was sideways

sounds like the "astronaut on a horse" problem; the ongoing challenge of getting AI to get a horse to ride an astronaut (it's always been easy the other way around). This might not be a problem anymore because AI now has lots of training data around this meme, I haven't tried in a year.

Basically there are not a whole lot of characters submerged in water for AI to train itself on. There's megatons of data of characters above water, by water, walking near water, floating on water, or swimming. It thinks you're talking about that data because it's the heaviest.

You should post the prompt/negative and settings you are using and a link to the specific generator. There are way too many Perchance generators to be able to tell what might be off.

Prompt "a person wading waist-deep in the river" did it for me. No-Style, no negative.
