Lobster is so so so overrated. 75% of the weight is shell. You could get tiger or argentinian shrimp for the same price per pound if not cheaper and you get 4 times more edible meat by weight.

All meat, but especially chicken, turkey, and pork. They are a hassle to cook right, leave gross juices everywhere, are cruel to factory farm, and super expensive. I rarely bother now, it's so much easier to get a consistent cook with tofu. Plus tofu is so mild that I can add whatever flavors I want.

This Thanksgiving I made a real turkey and a seitan turkey, and far preferred the seitan one. It tasted more like stuffing, and the turkey was tough despite being the exact right temperature with an instant meat thermometer.

Tbf, beef brisket used to be the most affordable cut of meat: you could feed a 15+ people with a $20 whole packer brisket and 24 hours of low and slow cooking.

Now the hipster restaurants got ahold of it and the prices have skyrocketed and so it's much less practical.

Meat and dairy. You can get healthier options that are also way better for the climate.

Steak.

Wagyu, filet mignon, rare, medium rare, pepper, juicy, whatever. It isn't as good as people say and I am almost wondering how many people play along so as not to be a buzz kill or whatever.

I may be biased from growing up on a cattle ranch but I really can't be bothered with folks who drool over steak. Seems silly to me.
