Everything is cleaned and organised. Dropped presents off to some family kiddos. Ham glaze made. Kitchen ready. Tomorrow I can just chill and cook for a couple of people.

Hope you all have great days whether social or quiet or just another day. Cheers

So nice to have everything sorted. Hope you have a lovely day, too

Tired. Hope everyone has a good sleep and enjoys their day tomorrow, what ever your plans are.

Has she leapt out and bitten your ankles yet? Ours used to hide under clothes racks and do that

[–] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 5 points 7 hours ago

I cannot stop sleeping. Guess my body needs it, but it would be nice to sleep at the right time. And not fall asleep before I can drink some fluids πŸͺ🌡

At my folks' place. Next door's teenage daughter just dropped off a plate of gingerbread men.

She's a lovely kid, that one

One of the best part about this time of year is looking forward to watching Dinner for One on NYE. It makes me cry laugh everytime.

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 3 points 7 hours ago

Hell's yeah. Classic

Its time to check out Culinary class wars on netflix if you haven't already. Season 2 is halfway through. Very good cooking competition πŸ‘

The wine has been poured. The eyelids are already heavy. Christmas tradition has been chosen to be put off.

[–] calhoon2005@aussie.zone 5 points 9 hours ago

Wrapping presents and just found out I may have doubled up on a present. Not really worried about it as I got the Whispering Jack album twice in 1986, and it was pretty awesome.

Damn, it's time to get ready for work already. Hopefully it will be a cruisy shift and I don't have to work too hard. So if you guys could do your best not to set things on fire, crash your cars or get your cat stuck up a tree that would be great.

I’ve been gardening all day and now cannot move from couch, so there’ll be no risk of any of that over here

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 9 hours ago

so jelly, I love gardening

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 2 points 10 hours ago

That sounds good, stuck on couch is usually an ambulance job. Unless you are really heavy and need some burly firefighters to hoist you up I won't need to do anything.

Just do your best, that's all we can ask for. But if you do decide to do something try to at least make it interesting. Get stuck it the chimney pretending to be Santa or something.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 4 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Chimneys are for rich people.

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 2 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

So the Santa story is just your cover for trying to rob the place and steal all the expensive Christmas presents? Clever.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

Rumour has it the big man never went down chimneys because he was taught lock picking while doing a stint in juvie when he was a young lad.

[–] Eagle@aussie.zone 4 points 11 hours ago

Will try my hardest. Hopefully the rest of society does too!

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 6 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

We've made it to Albury alright. The trip up was good but it has been a big day for the boys and they're tired silly

[–] anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone 4 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I heard there was a problem with the water around there recently - maybe check before drinking it

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

A bit too late now but thank you, I'll look into it so no one gets sick

[–] anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone 1 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

All good, looks like it was a problem in Wodonga (not Albury), and is apparently resolved …

(Sorry if I worried you)

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 8 points 12 hours ago

I've gotten a handle on doing all the Christmas stuff.

I think all the presents have been bought, just have to organise and wrap

all the food is ready to be prepped, Turkey and chicken pieces are in the freezer ready for Saturday

tomorrow's food is easy, just burgers and trifle , 2 x shortbread is made, I will bring half the panettone I made , only because it's so big I won't be able to finish it.

house is super organised and 95% clean already πŸ‘

I got the call centre job lol! Starting mid January.

Gonna be so flush with my a-bit-higher-than-minimum-wage wage, way more than Centrelink lol. I'll actually be able to pay rent without going broke for half a month every month

I’m so pleased for you!

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 4 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

That's excellent news just before Christmas

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 3 points 11 hours ago

It's such a relief! I joked with the recruiter about this being a lovely Christmas gift πŸ˜‚

Time to work! Looks like everyone's out doing their food shop today. Also the husbands who don't know what to get their wives.

[–] Alamutjones@aussie.zone 8 points 13 hours ago

Watching the market melt down this morning was glorious. My viewpoint from my apartment overlooks the fish market...it was like someone had kicked an ant's nest

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 5 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

Got some shopping done, then had a nap. Now I wonder whether to have beer or Prosecco
