Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

Pretty well so far but I'm still in bed, having only woke up like 15 minutes ago. Mostly just glad the day is here so we can start going back to normal (I work in retail, fuck Christmas in retail)

Not quite as expected, but not bad either. It is supposed to rain pretty hard later, so we didn’t drive to my in-laws for Christmas, but I get to stay home with my bunnies.

The tree has lots of stuff under it, mostly to keep the bunnies out, but I have some fun things under there to play with. I’ll probably put together my raspberry pi kit this afternoon and I have to find space for my Lego Enterprise.

The neighbors asked if I could hide their kid’s big Christmas present, so I’ve had a child’s bike in my garage since almost Thanksgiving. I remember what it’s like to get that one big present you really wanted. I’m so excited for this kid to get his brand new bike and I can’t wait to see him riding it up and down the street. I am happy to have helped make his holiday a little more special.

How was your day overall? Also that's such a wholesome story!

It ended up not raining much, we stay home and I got to hang out with my bunnies for Christmas Day. Seeing the kid on his brand new bike was so fun!

Pretty much done with. Summer lunch on the beach with family. Went for a swim. Got sunburned. Storms were predicted but never eventuated.

Stressful leading up to it, not knowing if we were going to have to cancel our plans at the last minutes (because of the storms), but it all worked out in the end.

. . . I’m dreaming of a summer Christmas.

That sounds bloody lovely! (apart from the storm threats, but). I live so close to so many beaches, but I never think to go Xmas day, it would be so bare. What a great tradition you all have!

I'm not sure where you are in the world, but here in Australia, parks and beaches are always full of people on Christmas day!

[–] LavaPlanet@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 days ago

Yeah I'm in Australia, small town /colder region. It's probably a thing here too, I just probably haven't noticed it.

Had a nice dinner with my dad's side of the family. Just finished setting up the presents for the kids. And now I'm going to bed! Tomorrow's dinner is at my brother's - so no prep for us! 🎉

It's somehow turned out really lovely! Most of the holiday stuff is done, lots of laughter and smiles and hugs from friends and family, and today is just a quiet day watching Christmas movies 😁

I'm so deeply grateful to have this love and warmth in my life, even if it's only for now. It wasn't so many years ago that I had much much less, and that may be the case in the near future too, so I'm trying to hold on to all the goodness I can!

How's your Christmas going, Lady?

Everything's closed, I'm too sad to get much reading done, and nobody is around to talk. Just working out like I'm in prison.

My still-not-ex-spouse is getting less and less cooperative. I really hope this doesn't end up in court.

OTOH, I had my initial consult for bottom surgery, so on the whole it was an awesome day!

Finishing up work in an hour. I'll be going home to probably make some fen zhen rou. (I think I have all the ingredients.) Add some caitai on the side and, naturally, rice, and SO and I will have a nice satisfying daily dinner, ready to relax before hitting the hay to work again tomorrow.

[–] ChrysanthemumIndica@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Omgosh that looks like such a satisfying and filling dish! What kind of starch do you normally use?

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The meat is coated in a spiced toasted rice ground coarsely. (Properly you'd do it in a mortar and pestle after dry-roasting the rice, but I'm lazy so I get premade ground rice, but I do spice it myself.)

The base I usually use taro for. Potatoes serve in a pinch, but taro has a nicer texture and is more flavour neutral, letting the umami from the pork belly shine through.

My comfort food of choice when I lived in Canada was German Linsensuppe (lentil soup/stew). I instantly switched to this, however, when I encountered it because ... it's ... As you said: satisfying and filling. Also, key, it's easy to make. :D

I will have to give it a try, thank you so much for future hearty meals 🧡 and I can't turn down easy to make!

Couldn't sleep, too much anxiety.

Warm thoughts and hoping you can find a quiet moment to breathe.

[–] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 6 days ago

This is probably the most tired I have ever been.

Honestly pretty boring. But we just finally watched Die Hard for the first time
