The reign of terror wasn’t exactly a good time, though.

I think most of us aren’t having a great time now either and the evil pedofile overlords are doubling down

Don’t get me wrong, I’m cool with eating the rich, I just want people to guard themselves against righteous bloodlust.

Yet we’ve had to watch the social murder of millions at their hands for decades. When does it end if we don’t end it?

Yeah, and everyone seems to forget about what followed. France didn't become a socialist utopia, it became a dictatorship

I am Marie Antoinette and I disapprove this message. Have your cake!

[–] 14th_cylon@lemmy.zip 12 points 1 week ago

The phrase can actually be traced back to Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Confessions in 1765, 24 years prior to the French Revolution, and when Antoinette was nine years old and had never been to France. The phrase was not attributed to Antoinette until decades after her death.

Every healthy society needs a robust guillotine repair and maintenance workforce.

Do you think Clouds Buster-sword was based on the guillotine?

He's a revolutionary who busts his way into the ivory tower, looking for gillionaires

but what if cloud puts the gillionaire materia on the buster sword. does the therefore have to guillotin himself forthwith?
