I left a few years ago. I didn’t get banned but I did remove my content.

It’s an adjustment. It’s a lot slower, and you have to play with your filters to get your viewing right for you.

There’s not a lot of niche forums like over there or support groups say for example the stremio Reddit. But it’s building and it’s a lot more genuine.

It takes time to build and you are now part of figuring how and where you can contribute. It is a nigggly transaction and you have to stop and remind yourself it’s not Reddit, it won’t be Reddit and you left there for a reason.

I feel like a real grown up now 🤣

Self censorship robbed us all. I loved coming across some random blog of a passionate enthusiast. Sitting at 2am thinking hmm maybe I do need to consider learning how to wire lights on a small boat….no 226 lights is a perfectly fine amount of lights for a 12ft boat. I hope this guy sails past me one day. Those were the days.

These days you just don’t find them. People looking to monetise exploited anything good out of existence…and of course you literally can’t find them due to search engines turning to crap.

And of course those places were more about what you could give rather than what you could take.

This is one of my biggest beefs. There’s been a whole generation that have grown up with the media. They believe they need it, not just convenience but need. They are happy to pay through the nose and trade their privacy.

Trying to get my kids to look beyond that and look at alternate ways of consuming digital content…and of course consider what they consume. It’s still hard they are like your crazy this stuff is to hard just DL ### app. I sound like my own dad.

I’m older so don’t have anything that might help you on your quest. I know things are very different out in the world. So many people are islands.

Are you an introverted type of person? Its great that you made an effort to get out there. Maybe rather than thinking about the goal you are trying to reach, look at the perspective of what you have gained in the last year. Maybe you are getting better at chatting, or you tried some new things. Personal growth takes time, and it tests you.

I have a few cliche mantras that help me. 2 I think you could help maybe.

  1. You win some, you lose some. This can be applied to friends, girls. That’s life, it’s not personal, hence why the saying exists.
  2. You live and learn, jt kinda follows you win some and you lose some you learn from each meeting/friendship.

I do think you are doing a great job at being respectful, it’s important in today’s world. You sound like you are gradually building self confidence rather than ego. Be proud of that…and maybe look at what makes you happy and go a little crazy on that.

This place is great if you ever need a small chat, there’s some decent posters on here.

To try and donate food each time I am in the supermarket.

Monthly viewing challenge. To pick a year and only watch movies from that year.

I’m for the cause but I think we should be dressing like we don’t a damn and do less shopping!

Use your local charity shop!

Corporate waffle. Some high paid consultant said some something something messaging messaging…If we keep calling it ABC the idiots (customers) will follow.

I’d still call it MS office but TBh I now use Libra office. Free. Easy. Does the job without interference.

Lived in multiple countries and had an Aldi close in them all. The quality and variety does differ. In particular the quality of the meat and fresh produce and I agree state to state can provide a disparity. I suppose that can be hard to imagine if you are used to a consistent Aldi.

There are quite a few staples that I liked they were very cheap in comparison to the bigger stores. In particular the chocolate, kettle crisps, cheese twists etc.

I also found it helpful for stocking up when budgeting. Each Jan I would go buy the giant soap powder, dishwasher tabs, hand wash, toothpaste kitchen roll, olive oil, anything that could be stored in the garage. This stopped me visiting the other stores so much and spending on junk.

I always love this story. I have always been a fan of art, in particular classical. I know people are horrified what happened but I always feel art captures a time a moment a feeling and she did was a really unique moment and result.

I appreciate that it was a work of an artist and that has been lost with the alteration. But there are so many artworks like this. I also actually like her artistic style. I get annoyed at people questioning the merit. Art is in the eye of the beholder and should not be marked as lesser because it a master did not paint it.

Yeh been increasingly problematic for the last few months. Cleared cache and reset etc but lately i am getting a lot more - no streams found.
I have tried realdebrid that got fussy when I used more than one device. Alldebrid I was getting lots of denied access errors or your debrid link is not valid.

I am currently in torbox. It had its moments but it’s ok.

I am big into spending some time doing crafts with family. Ideally for me it’s got some recycling. I’ll be making cardboard houses this year, some paper chains and likely I’ll make some candle holders from clay.

What your craft project to escape the big world this year guys?

I’ll start. Chuck Norris jokes!

I am trying to ween of insta and social media. More towards genuine content so does anyone have any good gardening blogs? UK based (or similar climate at least) please.

I am not looking for curated style content. I am not wanting boxes of here’s the best 25 flower beds etc.

I have tried llm but it’s been sending me to non existing blogs or reroutes to compilation sites.

Thanks in advance.

I will start by saying I am trying to consume a lot less in my life, but due to circumstance I need to start again in my life. I am also trying to degoogle not use Amazon etc.

With this in mind I prefer to buy a decent value product and look at the options however I have noticed that I keep coming across comparisons and over and over it’s driven by ‘check price at Amazon’. Amazon has ruined decent reviews for me. All anyone wants to do is sell Amazon tat at me. Anyone else have this problem of too much chafe when trying to research decent products?

I’m not Netflix or a struggling screenwriter. I just read an offhand prophecy of how the year pans out and thought it would make a good chat.

Pitch this years Christmas movie to me based on the the crazy year we have had and how it’s going to impact the lead up to Christmas. For simplicity state the genre and maybe around 300 words. Go as crazy as you fancy, the world is a bit bizarre at the moment and Christmas does not have to always be sickly sweet.
