So far, only 12,000 documents containing 125,000 pages have been released in three tranches.

More than 2 million files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein are still to be released, according to a court filling Monday night from the Department of Justice which said a team of 400 lawyers was reviewing the documents to ensure “victim privacy.”

The filing also said the department would review its procedures for evaluating the files after victims complained that some information posted should have been redacted.

The DOJ filing confirms reporting from NBC News last week that millions of files were being reviewed before their planned release. So far, only 12,000 documents containing 125,000 pages have been released in three tranches.

It’s going to eventually come out, that Trump rapes children. These people are all cowards, they’ll sell each other out as soon as one gets caught.

Will he actually be held to account? Probably not. The guy tried to overthrow the government, and was welcomed back into the White House with applause. He doesn’t have to play by any rules—not even his own.

Why are you phrasing this as if it hasn't already come out that he's a child rapist? It seems to me that we've known that for years

[–] PlantJam@lemmy.world 13 points 3 days ago (2 children)

We have "known" that for years (guilt by association with Epstein), but we haven't known with verifiable evidence.

They are already tossing in fake evidence in the files so they can say that real evidence is bogus. They already posted two fake files that I know of.

"Flood the zone with shit."

[–] Ruxias@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

I'm trying to imagine what sort of evidence would be sufficient to convince the majority of his base... The "fake" deflect is too strong now with fake videos and audio being so easy to create.

Trump complained about a couple of cases where they didnt redact him

When you realize that they see the rich guys who are being exposed as victims this makes a lot more sense.

[–] UnspecificGravity@piefed.social 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If love to hear how all the middle aged white guys getting edited out were victims.

They're political victims of the Democrat Epstein HOAX.
— Republicans, probably

The same DOJ, who is doing everything they can to cover this up? The ones ignoring the court orders to release the files? The ones redacting and pulling already released info? That DOJ?

[–] AuroraZzz@lemmy.world 9 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

All of the files were supposed to be released by now lol. Where the fuck is the urgency in any of this? Does all Trump have to do is attack random nations and kidnap leaders to distract from the fact that he raped children, drowned babies, and allegedly killed some of the children that he raped in the files that have already been released. 12k out of 2 million documents is a tiny fraction, but these crimes are already outlined pretty explicitly in the documents that we already have. According to the law, the DOJ should have released everything by now

It's Trump's strategy he learned from Roy Cohn. https://www.npr.org/2024/12/26/g-s1-40039/deny-deflect-delay-jeremy-strong-channels-trumps-mentor-in-the-apprentice.

We see Trump "Deny, deflect, delay" a lot. He's already tried to deny it. He's trying to deflect it and he's also delaying it.

The solution is to leverage the fact that he's delaying it and keep it in the news cycle as much as possible. Turn his strategy against him and make him as unpopular as possible. The less popular he is the less support he will have if things get even worse and he tries to rig/cancel elections.

With how redacted the files have been so far they hardly need releasing. Would be more effective and informational to tell people to close their eyes and imagine what the Epstein files look like.

... Unless someone else at the DOJ feels like botching up some digital redactions again. Would be nice.

Out of 2 million files, how many do you think the Pedo-in-Chief is on?

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

2 million, give or take

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 days ago

The next world war will be fought against a pedophile and somehow for some reason, people are supporting him

You know, not wanting to say anything positive about him, but at least Hitler's hobby was painting.
