I really don't see the appeal nowdays, so many options out there, including collabora (which has the community version).

I really wanna see the way they'll do.

Collabora is a mess. It essentially streams an image from a server running the office suite, and is always an unresponsive mess to use, and gets worse with bad connections.

Now thats true🫤 I had to implement on same server running nextcloud to be viable, but then it left me with little resource to put anything else.

I hope they make a version less resource hogging

Cool..... But like, people know apps exist right? And networked storage? Why does everything gotta be a webapp... Feels like only a matter of time until my desktop calculator is running in Electron.

I recently deployed OnlyOffice for my Nextcloud. Sometimes I want to collaborate with other people in real time on a single document, and the web client is perfectly usable for that. I'm hoping LibreOffice Web can grow into a usable alternative.

That's fair. Good usecase

Yeah. Currently using Google Docs for real-time collaboration.

Would be really cool if I could use LibreOffice instead. Especially cool if I could be hosting the instance on my own software.

A) No longer giving Google free reign to train its AI on my writing before it's even published.

B) No worries about losing all my documents if Google ever decides to ban me.
