Finally some good news. Loved Battlebots back in the day, I just hope there will be less bots that do nothing but flip the other one over.
From my limited understanding of the rc battle scene, the current meta is spinning kinetic weapons. Just get a hunk of metal spinning fast and go to town.
I do wish that there was a larger variety in designs and weaponry, but I'm not complaining about seeing shredded bot bits flying across the arena.
Even the Micro-bot scene is getting interesting as rc parts get cheaper and cheaper. The bar to enter is lowering daily. I'm thinking about ordering some things so my wife and I can have little driveway matches with flippers and grabbers. She wants a spinner but I don't want to break the bank buying replacement parts...
Once you start doing spinners you are in "maybe we should have a box to fight in" because the other option is getting a shard of metal in the leg.
I want to see this thing escalate. Plasma cutters, explosives, depleted uranium projectiles.
have you seen how thick the walls of the battle box are already to protect everyone from the current levels of carnage?? with your suggestion they'd all have to be in another building!
So? We watch a recording anyway!
I was in the audience for a few shows! it was a blast, can't recommend enough!

but my point is that audience participation is a core feature of the show. removing that would greatly change the character of Battlebots for no good (in my opinion) reason. the destruction is crazy enough that we don't need to be adding hazards that will complicate the fights a great deal
Just get a better legal waver and let the remote tank on tank battles begin!

You can volunteer for the Russia army and experience some of those things first hand.
The NHRL has been blowing the pants off BattleBots TV show. I tune in all day during tournaments
I love NHRL, but let's not pretend their 30lb bots are comparable lol. Excited to have BB back
