Rules:
-
Rule 1: posts have the following requirements:
- Post news articles only
- Video links are NOT articles and will be removed.
- Title must match the article headline
- Not United States Internal News
- Recent (Past 30 Days)
- Screenshots/links to other social media sites (Twitter/X/Facebook/Youtube/reddit, etc.) are explicitly forbidden, as are link shorteners.
-
Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.
-
Rule 3: Opinions articles, or Articles based on misinformation/propaganda may be removed.
-
Rule 4: Posts or comments that are homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, anti-religious, or ableist will be removed. “Ironic” prejudice is just prejudiced.
-
Posts and comments must abide by the lemmy.world terms of service UPDATED AS OF OCTOBER 19 2025
-
Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
-
Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
-
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Here are all the countries Trump has bombed in his second term.
And that doesn't include the many he has threatened (Greenland, Cuba, Panama, Canada, Mexico, etc.) or "military operations" like whatever the USA is up to in Ecuador.
His peace is that of the grave.
yeah he actually posted that the bombings will continue as long as is necessary for peace in the middle east and the world...
'If you don't stop asking about the epstein files, out next diversion will be cuba'
Y'all need to get rid of this guy asap.
Literally a fat, orange version of Hitler that Americans are doing fuck all about
Guess what? Americans are doing what they can and should at the moment.
There are protests, strikes, election defense programs, community organization, signal mobilization, and more.
It’s not being reported by the media because it’s all propaganda. Democracy needs to do its thing unfortunately and that takes time.
There’s a LOT that needs to be done and tried before it turns into something more dramatic. We need to have mid term elections, need to see them be fair, and then let the democratic accountability take hold.
If that fails, then there’s more. But that has to fail, and people need to stop saying it will fail before it does. We don’t need more agitation, it sucks here right now, but the tide is turning at the pace of democracy. If you want something faster you’re asking for fascism to replace fascism and nobody should want that.

I have to watch other sources to see that this is happening, it's fucking disgusting man. If the media was run on "outrage" as it seems to be ... it's weird how so much of this isn't being reported.
It’s not weird, mainstream media is owned by the oligarchs and they want this crap.
Independent media however is having a foundational moment and it’s helping me get through this.
Trump's friends are buying up all the legacy media too. Hell, Larry Ellison, an Israel loyalist, is buying warner bros to get CNN. Already owns CBS and other stuff through Paramount Skydance. Or his son does, anyway.
What other sources are you watching?
It doesn't have much to do with the politics directly, but I have been watching gamers nexus coverage for my tech related geopolitics and they have been great in their coverage of topics like the circular money scheme in the ai sector & the silicon shortage.
Don't you guys have something about guns and unjust governments written into your constitution?
The thing that made sense when everyone had the same shitty muskets?
As the previous comment hinted at, if you are going to use firearms to enact change it will invite an elevation in hostilities that is impossible to predict the outcome of, but will likely hinder the Democratic systems even more than they already are.
IMO guns are likely only going to appeal to people if at the very least the midterms don't go the way we think it should. This is mainly because the opposition to the current government happens to be the main demographic that dislikes firearms.
A full third of America said 'i don't care' when the writing was on the wall in bright flashing lights.
Fuck off. Americans invited this. Reap what you sow, loers.
I understand the frustration but people are actually trying here. Genuinely. The media isn't covering it. Socialists are winning elections en mass for the first time in American history. People regret. People are angry. People are scared. I never voted for the Orange turd THANK GOODNESS and I was dreading him both times but people are legit waking up.... Sucks it had to get this bad but this chapter in history will eventually be over, too..... It's terrifying, tho.
Every single person that voted for him needs to apologize to the entire world, imo.
Muricans are busy trying to figure out which billonaire CEO eats his own burger correctly.
American here...
Easier said than done. He is still in his presidential term, which means the only way to get rid of him anytime soon would be with an impeachment. That is not based on popular vote but rather by vote within our legislative body. And that body has become relatively corrupt because Americans don't pay attention to representatives they vote for other than selecting one party or another. And there are really only two parties that have any chance of getting elected, both of which suck in their own special ways.
That means it is unlikely we will be rid of him before 2028, when his term expires. He has already had two terms in office so our constitution prohibits him from having a third so in theory that should be the end. In practice he has made mention of "deserving" a third term and some of his supporters have 'Trump 2028' flags and stickers.
Should he attempt to run again that would likely create a constitutional crisis.
You should however be aware that from what I can tell, this war does not have the approval of the American people. We have seen what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan, how a 'short victorious war' usually ends up being anything but. We spent 10+ years and $trillions on Iraq and Afghanistan and got little or nothing of value in return. And this looks an awful lot like the same shit happening again. A great many Americans are not happy about this.
The best thing that is likely to happen is a revocation of the 'Authorization for Use of Military Force'. Per our constitution, the President is Commander in Chief of all US armed forces. However, he cannot declare war on another country without Congressional approval. AUMF sidesteps that, it was a bill law passed after 9/11 which gives the President broad authority to initiate combat without Congressional approval or an actual declaration of war. Since 9/11 it has been used to create military action in 22 countries. That could be revoked by Congress with a lower barrier to entry than impeachment.
Americans are too wimpy to do anything.
Why do we give the president unilateral military power?
Because we have a shitty constitution we have barely updated and slowly have accrued “small adjustments” that have given the executive massive power.
Next constitution we write should require us to write a new one every hundred years or something
Constitutionally he doesn’t have that power. But congress has no intention of doing its job of holding the administration responsible
Because owning the libs or some shit.
Is Cuba now in the right to launch a preemptive strike?
In case people start talking about Trump-Epstein again even with the Iran war, we still have another on Cuba to resort to. Then, Greenland, Equador, maybe Mexico, Canada, Spain..... Who says there is no plan or strategy by the GOP?
They're sounding pretty spread out, now is the time for Canada to invade.
We could pad out our army with tfw since no Canadians want to be in it.
Tim Horton's night shift.
Ah yes, the russian approach! We can't have the children from Ottawa suburbs dying in an invasion, can we?
What the fuck did Cuba do?
Same as Canada, Greenland, Mexico, .... I can go on a little bit. Trump just wants to conquer more territories, we're back to those ages again
Exist?
Focus? No.
"Flood the zone"? Yes.
I’m really hoping Cuba is able to maintain their independence
Imagine supporting a literal pants-shitting, f-grade charlatan, and then seeing these headlines and thinking your positions and those you support are improving the world.
It's impossible to know whether any person who subscribes to organized religion has a real break in their application and understanding of science and physics, or whether they're playing a part for some other interest or reason. The result is the same, and the games are fucking awful.
People living by silly rules that don't make any fucking sense are quite a liability for mankind when we're already fucked or against a proverbial wall.
