Seriously, it's like our defense completely forgot how to operate.

I gave up after the refs didn't call intentional grounding on Herbert. So tired of losing to the REFS and the other team.

[–] wordswiththeletterB@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Bro, it’s us. It’s not them, it’s not the refs. It’s us.

We suck.

[–] Jonah8513@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That’s true but let’s not act like the refs didn’t play any part in last nights debacle.

If there isn’t news of coaches being fired today, we riot. And by riot I mean make angry posts on Reddit until Sunday when we do it all over again.

[–] BR1M570N3@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is the way

[–] MaximumMasterpiece22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Don't trade Jaylon Johnson!

[–] patchinthebox@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Would be really great if Flus and Getsy are fired.

[–] SD40couple@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We suck again.

[–] whatever12347@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

It kind of annoys me that people are saying Bagent sucks because he played bad in his second game, but then expecting Fields to come in and turn things around in his 32nd game. No idea which one's better, but these people are clearly contradicting themselves.

[–] Ditka_in_your_Butkus@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My amateur couch eyes told me the kid played well for most of the game. He commanded the offense, avoided pressure, and made decisive throws the entire first half, however his teammates and the refs did him zero favors with penalties, drops, and missed calls. He had 3 TDs taken off of the board (yes I know 2 were on same drive but still). In the second half he had to start forcing things, but that would be any QB. I’m impressed with his 2nd start, but agree he’s a backup. I hope he sticks around for a long time in that role, and if he does he’d become a Chicago icon solely because of his blue collar credentials

Dumb Bears fans still fighting Fields vs Bagent when both were ass from the beginning lol

[–] Penguinkeith@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

lol top it off with the panthers beating the Texans ffs

[–] PrimalFerox@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Just tank. It is clear this team cannot compete.

[–] HearshotKDS@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They don’t have to tank - they struggle to win games while trying their best lol

[–] rudeboybill@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Kevin Warren was shown on camera scribbling some notes on a piece of paper, and the optimist in me thinks he wrote “Eberflus=BAD” but the realist in me thinks it was probably just notes on the stadium.

[–] bred_binge@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It was a play sheet im pretty sure. Looked a lot like one at least.

[–] MacBear54@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That was funny how incredibly potentially true that comment was.

The entire team sucks, but holy shit Velus Jones might be the worst pick I've ever seen.

[–] Bergamot29@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (5 children)

lol at the Bears QB controversy.

Fields = Mitch Trubisky and Bagent = Kyle Orton. Neither one is good enough to start in this league.

Eberflus is a discount Lovie Smith and Getsy is a discount Adam Gase.

Poles = Pace. Both were great talent evaluators but both suffered from serious flaws they couldn't overcome and neither could bring home the right QB.

[–] jstacks4@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Not sure why people are saying Bagent isn’t good enough to start in the league because of last night. If he was a rookie who had been drafted top 10 we’d all be pretty excited with how he played

Poles didn’t draft Fields so not sure how he didn’t bring home the right QB. if the one we draft next year is ass, then sure.

Lmao all the mouthbreathers who thought Bagent was the answer.isnt even in the same stratosphere as Fields

[–] ImEvadingPermaban@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They are both backups competing for a starting job.

[–] SpaceCampDropOut@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’m going back to sleep

[–] VegetasWidowPeak22@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

George is keeping Eberflus throughout the season even though this guy has lost 75% of his games throughout his tenure

[–] SgtBalzac@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yes because … he’s fucking lazy.

[–] Apotheosis69420@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It only might’ve happened if Alan Williams didn’t have his scandal. It would’ve been easier to fire Eberflus and promote his other Colts guys to interim HC, so we don’t have to hire Bill Polian again to find us another Colts coach

[–] Equivalent_Willow567@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Weird how Flus came right out yesterday ruling fields out on Sunday. Flus is done with Fields, Warren is done with Flus. This team is a complete crap shoot of a team. Undisciplined, and completely useless. A roster that is rebuilding doesn’t take this long and we should hear players going into what week 9 saying “I think we’re finally getting to know each other?” FLUSH THE FLUS AND STAFF.

[–] Falt_ssb@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

This team has like 2 legitimately, consistent good players on it two years into a rebuild

Lol

[–] Standard_Employee751@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

And people still think Poles is doing a great job 🙄

I started falling asleep on the couch at points during the second half. And, no surprise, I’d wake up to see that nothing meaningful happened and then doze off again

[–] CancerCows@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

A billion flags, can’t tackle, velus sucks

[–] quagmire0@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (3 children)

The only ray of sunshine this morning is me thinking of the total absurdity of that Velus end zone debacle and the meme that the Chargers sent out after the game. I mean, all Velus needed to do was stand there and catch the ball. Instead, he slipped and fell over. However, the football gods were attempting not to deny him this day, so they had the ball fall directly onto him on the ground, yet he still dropped the ball. Only in America.

[–] discombobulatedhomey@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It was like the ball rolled over his entire body where every single extremity had multiple chances to catch the ball.

But still dropped.

[–] Apotheosis69420@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

The over the top speed of Tyreek Hill, but the catching ability of David Terrell. The perfect specimen.

My wife asked me what I'm going as for Halloween, and I told her a depressed Bears fan. So, I'm fine with the loss because it takes my costume to the next level.

[–] pleasedontbingme@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It’s interesting how people latched to Bagent because he seemed like the “safer” choice at QB over Fields while Fields had among the lowest turnover worthy plays so far this year and Bagent had 6 yesterday alone.

I love Bagent and happy that he may have a legit backup for the next 3 years.

I don't understand all the doom and gloom here - we lost to a team we expected to lose to with our backup QB. Everyone saying "bears bad" - yeah. We did away all our good players 2 years ago and have had 1(!) First round pick since then. That said eberflus defensive scheme couldn't stop a ball of yarn rolling down a hill. JF1 next week lfg drop 40 on the saints

This feels like the closest I've ever been to a breaking point with this team, at least temporarily. Watching last night, and knowing we have Justin Fields coming back next week... Chicago must have invented Seasonal Affective Disorder.

[–] New-Age-1315@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Really the only thing that mattered was how horrible the coaching still is. It’s plain as day we need new coaches. We have so many penalties which is something that can be coached, bad play calls, don’t think this team believes they can win either. Talent is whatever, we have tons of cap space and picks next year so we will get some more talent next year. But if we stick with these coaches we will continue to be bad.

[–] Independent-Word9609@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We need a defensive coordinator and I want to see Fields come back and throw for 80 yards deep into the fourth quarter while probably leading a 1-9 third down conversion success rate.

[–] ThisOneGoes211@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Things could be better
