Cut the shit. Everybody knows the guy isn’t coming back. The fans, coaching staff, front office, players everybody. But we have to keep up this charade for 2 months and watch terrible football and loses and listen to his goofy ass press conferences with his used car salesman energy. What’s the purpose of being coach friendly and not firing mid season the top candidates still never come here and we will hire another clown desperate enough to work for this poverty franchise.

What do the Bears gain by firing their HC and DC in October?

Cmon man.

Him staying is doing us more good than harm. What's the worst than can happen, we get the #1 overall pick?

Firing and replacing him in the season would cost the McCaskeys a few $$$, that is NOT going to happen.

He makes Trestman and Fox look like competent coaches.

How many more games until Eberflus realizes that a hat would keep the sun out of his eyes?

George is calling his good friend Bill Polian to start a low key search tomorrow

Objectively, we don’t gain anything by trying to introduce a “Lame Duck Leader” who ALSO won’t be the HC next year. There’s nothing to gain when we don’t have a favorite candidate in mind, and if anything it’s a worse look to any potential coaches next year if we’re the type of org that fires someone mid season…

Who's going to coach in the interim? Getsy? We don't have a viable alternative.

If we fire our coach midseason, we might as well tank

Hightower seems like the obvious choice but once you get into filling vacancies on the way down it’s complicated

I'll do it. I promise I won't call three screen passes in a row.

Jesus if we were a real fan base we wouldnt change our mind after every week

[–] TheRealMe72@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wouldn't be surprised if he is back next year.

[–] TerrorDeity@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I really don't know what people expect. The players are just not good. They are getting better, but they are not there yet. We can't reset every year, give him time.

[–] lkn240@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

There's no point in firing him. We already have no DC, if you promote Getsy we have to then hire a DC.

Someone has to coach the team - just ride out the tank for the rest of the year and then flush them all

[–] CMI_312@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I don't think it really matters if he's fired now or at the end of the season. I don't think anyone that Bears could get in the interim would really be any better. No one from outside the org could fix what's going on with the team significantly halfway through the season. If you want Flys fired simply as punishment , then just ride with that, but firing him now won't help the team in 2023.

What happens with poles then? Which is worse?

OP sounds like another BUM who doesn’t buy into HITS. Ship him off like we did Roquan and now JJ. This team will turn a corner when it’s ONLY devout followers of HITS.
