I do like the idea of calling the current US government the "Epstein Network".

[–] FlyingCircus@lemmy.world 32 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I call them the Epstein Class. It's not just this administration, or even one party, or even just politicians in general. It is the global elite and their unjust system of exploitation called capitalism that has allowed Trump to do what he does with no consequences. As long as the Epstein Class exists, there will be more Epsteins.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 9 points 5 days ago (5 children)

capitalism

Think Epstein's network crossed economic ideological boundaries. Noam Chomsky considered Epstein a good friend while simultaneously being a staunch critic of capitalism. There are signs of being connected to the USSR, China, North Korea, .... If Epstein connected with fame or power, it didn't matter what 'system' was in play.

[–] FlyingCircus@lemmy.world 7 points 5 days ago

Yeah unfortunately some people who were ostensibly on the side of the working class were also caught up with Epstein. There are evil people on every side. I'm not surprised by connections between Epstein and USSR/China/DKP. Epstein was primarily an asset of Mossad and the CIA, who used him to generate kompromat. Would you not expect that entities that are aligned against the western hegemony of the Epstein Class to try to gain access to the blackmail factory? Or it could also just be that they were all pedophiles, too. I don't know.

None of this changes the fact that the reason no one truly powerful ever faces consequences for things like Epstein or the Panama Papers is that the political-economic system is designed by the ruling class to benefit those few people lucky enough to own capital. Wealth = Power.

Why not replace “Deep State” with “Epstein State”?

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 72 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Normally I would dismiss this as stupid propaganda. Now I am considering it to be an incredulous reality. 😒

[–] Pacattack57@lemmy.world 28 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Who would stop the CIA from dressing 3 brown operatives in turbans, blowing up a building, and then blaming Iran?

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 27 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Don't be silly, they'll put one in a dress and try to claim they're trans

[–] Lucius_Sweet@lemmy.world 12 points 5 days ago (1 children)

We need to keep our children safe from those Transiranians

This is so well played!

Now Iran can attempt an attack almost openly on the US soil and many will believe it was an inside job. Well, that's what happens when you have 0 credibility at home due to your compulsive need to say BS all the time.

[–] backalleycoyote@lemmy.today 37 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Nah, we’ll still be able to tell. Effective, strategic, hits people of all walks of life? Iran. Bungled, half-assed, and happens in a blue city, in a community of color, at a gay bar… you know.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 15 points 5 days ago (1 children)

So Iran just has to do it all bungled and half-assed and we'll never suspect it was them!

[–] backalleycoyote@lemmy.today 10 points 5 days ago

What dimension of chess are we now playing? 6D? 7D? Shit’s going to start blowing up and 1/3 of the people will be claiming it, 1/3 blaming it, and 1/3 lying about it, when in fact it was a laptop battery that overheated.

[–] FearMeAndDecay@literature.cafe 14 points 5 days ago (10 children)

You mean like that “potential drone strike attempt” in California that the FBI said Iran might try to do? Despite it being unlikely that Iran has drones capable of striking California?

[–] backalleycoyote@lemmy.today 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Haha, yeah. I saw that too and pondered at the veracity of that claim. If Iran has drones that can fly across the Indian and Pacific Oceans and still hit a target, damn, that’s a helluva technological leap.

Tbh pushing this narrative far and wide is going to do a LOT to defang the impact of any sort of false flag bullshit the orange regime might attempt.

[–] IlmariGanander@lemmy.wtf 36 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Didn't the FBI already say shit about bombing California?

Given every accusation is a confession with the GoP I immediately figured they were going to do it themselves and blame Iran. And that California was chosen to try to scare it into line, much like other blue states have been targeted by the current administration.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 13 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

Wait, they did? You got a source?

Edit: ok yeah I remember this. I thought it smelled to high heaven initially. Fact check report https://archive.is/2026.03.13-151616/https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/fbi-california-iran-drone-strikes/

not to put an extra tin foil on my tin foil hat.

but now, given the US government, even if Iran did perpetrate a 9/11 style attack. I will assume it was a false flag attack by the US.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 42 points 6 days ago (1 children)
[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 16 points 6 days ago (9 children)

that's why I have no doubt that any attack in the US will be done by the US.

my point being, that by being that sloppy and untrustworthy, even is Iran did commit an attack, everyone will believe it was the US. not saying they will. just that the US government is fucked either way

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 12 points 6 days ago (5 children)

Honestly that might be something that could actually incite real rebellion by state governments and another civil war - the federal government carrying out a false flag so ham-handedly that it’s brutally fucking obvious that it’s a false flag.

Trump started a war to protect himself and his epstein buddies. Nothing is off the table. Human life is cheap for these unfeeling creeps.

...

... The world has gone very wrong when this doesn't even sound so unbelievable. I only see one issue:

So far the US seems to have given up trying to make pretext for anything. Trump can do anything he wants and be worshipped for it.

[–] Hadriscus@jlai.lu 9 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

He still has to manufacture consent, and blaming the brown people for random bombings is the classic way. It's not just unbelievable, it will happen.

Nobody does false flag attacks like the US. One must just assume that if something like that happens it was fully planned and deployed by the Burger admin, that's always the most probable scenario.

[–] unexposedhazard@discuss.tchncs.de 24 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Nah Israel is definitely the king of false flags.

CIA searching eBay for a copy of "Sims 3" right now.

[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

Yeah, we all assumed that when the military drones went missing.

[–] rayyy@piefed.social 12 points 6 days ago

Well, how else is the pedo felon going to justify imposing martial law to avoid the bloodbath midterms?

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago

I can't wait for this administration to bungle even this
