There is a middle ground between hoarding picks and cap space and burning high draft picks and cap space on slightly above average players.

He could just sign a defensive lineman in the offseason without trading a second rounder. Sweat is a good player but he is not elite imo.

It's because everytime he fills a hole, he creates a new one. If JJ gets delt, what's the real win here? Now we have to go out and find another top-tier shutdown CB. Those are real easy to find, right?

I don’t like this move. It ties us to a 4-3 guy. Which suggests eberflush will be back next year when he has no right to be. Also I don’t like that we will likely be trading Jaylon Johnson and not extending the younger guy at almost an equally important position. I’ve never been a fan of trading high draft assets for the right to pay someone. It’s a bad way to manage your assets and cap.

There have been two “proven” players he has used to fill holes. Sweat, and DJ Moore.

Did Lucas Patrick fill a hole? Was he proven? Have his choices in the secondary really moved the needle? How would you rate the signing and money for Edmunds now that we’ve seen half a season of non-performance? What did Chase Claypool prove?

A broken clock is right twice a day. That aligns with the moves Poles had made. Otherwise you don’t get credit for creating holes and replacing them with less impactful talent.

Last year, he uses a 2nd rounder to fix a receiver position in which he drafted VJJ the prior draft. This year, it is a second rounder foa position Poles completely neglected in this year's draft. Not a great strategy.

Can someone point out who/where people are complaining about having draft capital going into 2024?

This sub moves faster than your meme. Keep up.

This is actually a huge dumbfuck move when you look at he could have gotten both Sweat AND Young. Yes, we'd have to pay Chase Young but he's finally healthy and he and Sweat are monsters.

well this sub is filled with people who think that since they can turn around a floundering franchise in one season on Madden that's how it is done in the real world.

I wake up to see the bears added a someone for much needed spot. D line… and it’s sweat, dude is solid. Can’t wait to the excitement in the sun reddit. Lol

But it isnt one or the other. Stop making it like that is the only reasonable way of looking at it. Literally gaslighting. The problem is how he does what he does. He is not doing it the best way. Not when a younger guy with more sacks on the same fucking team just went a whole round later to a proven good team.

Why would anybody feel compelled to defend any person involved with the bears right now? I see fields stans bagent stans poles stans getsy stans. This team sucks shit and everyone earning a paycheck from it should count themselves lucky they’re not setting pins in a bowling alley.

Have some standards folks.
