Welcome to Risa

All the pleasure of shore leave, none of the holodeck glitches.

Rule 1 — Be Civil, Not KlingonThis is a vacation planet, not the neutral zone.

  • No harassment, brigading, or trolling
  • No bigotry
  • Keep the banter playful, not hostile

Rule 2 — No Prohibited CargoSome things aren’t welcome aboard.

  • No spam or scams
  • No porn or sexually explicit content
  • No illegal content
  • NSFW memes must be properly tagged

Rule 3 — Keep It TrekPosts should be Star Trek memes or Trek-adjacent humor.

  • Crossovers are fine
  • Low-effort “unrelated” memes may be spaced out the nearest airlock

Rule 4 — Gatekeeping Belongs in a Black Hole
You’re welcome to have your own opinions on what counts as “real” Star Trek but forcing your view on others or pretending it’s the only valid one? That’s not the Starfleet way.
Everyone’s Trek is valid, from TOS purists to Lower Decks shitposters, and you don't get to dictate what is real or not for everyone.

If you see a post that violates the rules, or that doesn't inspire Jamaharon, report it so the mods can handle it.

Otherwise grab a horga’hn, order a Risan Mai Tai, and enjoy your shore leave.

Big if true.

At midnight, on the 12th of August A huge mass of luminous gas erupted from ~~Mars~~ Jupiter and sped towards Earth Across two hundred million miles of void Invisibly hurtling towards us Came the first of the missiles that were to bring so much calamity to Earth As I watched, there was another jet of gas It was another missile, starting on its way

And that's how it was for the next ten nights A flare, spurting out from ~~Mars~~ Jupiter Bright green, drawing a green mist behind it A beautiful, but somehow disturbing sight Ogilvy, the astronomer, assured me we were in no danger He was convinced there could be no living thing on that remote Forbidding planet

I need more of this. It also sounds quite familiar to me and I can't pick why.

It's from that fancy book written in 1898 by some underrated Anglo-Saxon dude, there's also a film featuring some actor guy, whose actual name is Thom or something alike. There are, in fact, many notable books from this subject, many of which reflect differnt aspects of human nature — some people may find it pretty relatable to their views and even still relevant. Can't add any more really — my lobotomy starts to itch 🤕

Scientists now know that Jupiter has more than 50% charge

Nah, that's Shrek's swamp. I'd recognize it anywhere.

I like that boulder... That is a nice boulder.

Why even keep this suppressed, that's scp-2399.

Aaaand you've been reported to your site's administrator. The only one you've been authorized to disclose on this community is SCP-3135 as according to recent protocols in discrediting Trek Communities as 'conspiracy theorists'.

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@thelemmy.club 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

(Sorry, I like to call out SCP bs because I know how important it is to regularly test containment scenarios, and bcs of the free amnestic & anti-memetics y'all give me, it's some good shit.)

Also, that damned Neelix.

[–] Dazharion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

(You escape being demoted to D-Class... this time...)

I like Neelix :(

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@thelemmy.club 1 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I would volunteer for an experiment to try to communicate with SCP-3135 warning them/it that there is a Neelix onboard & that I'm there to kill it (before it somehow merges into ... Worlix??).

(Neelex hate is kinda mostly fake from my side, yet compulsory.)

[–] Dazharion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Well now I just want to see Worlix. Request denied.

(Fair lol)

(Just thinking about it from personalities synergies pov - a Tuvorf would have actually been hella fierce.)
